Retail is WoW 2 if you think about it. Classic is 1, and in it's current state, the game is so vastly different in every way that it seems like version 2. If their next expansion features a time jump like many have speculated, then it seals it even more.
We are playing WoW 2 already....

Blizzard can't make a good expansion anymore and you believe they would be able to make a new decent MMORPG from the ground up?
WoW 2 would have to compete with other MMOs on the market which have years of content - even WoW 1 (current game) has 15 years of content. How do you top that?

Why would they? We are already playing WoW 3 for all intents and purposes. Vanilla and BC was one game, LK through MoP - another, WoD through BfA - third. Originally Posted by Jalham

It should be bannable to walk into a thread when someone has an idea and say "its a dumb idea". I'm super tired of reading it.
TO FIX WOW:1. smaller server sizes & server-only LFG awarding satchels, so elite players help others. 2. "helper builds" with loom powers - talent trees so elite players cast buffs on low level players XP gain, HP/mana, regen, damage, etc. 3. "helper ilvl" scoring how much you help others. 4. observer games like in SC to watch/chat (like twitch but with MORE DETAILS & inside the wow UI) 5. guild leagues to compete with rival guilds for progression (with observer mode).6. jackpot world mobs.

From a development standpoint, 0% chance this happens. I've been saying for a few years no Blizzard will never produce another MMO. The cost is too high, the risk is too great, and even a great MMO these days is pretty much capped where WoW's sub base is right now because the genre's been deflating ever since 2010.

We've been playing WoW 2 for years. Looks how different retail is to Classic.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.
