See subject, curious what's normal. Been in two runs so far, one did it in about 3 and the other somehow managed to turn it in to 3 days totaling 8+ hours.

Raid bosses will always be very similar so long as encounter design requires DPS to always be pumping 100%.
My guild's last run was 71 mins. We could get it even lower if everyone got their world buffs and used some consumes.
Is under an hour even possible?
I mean, I can do it on live WoW on my level 120 (ie, where I can just charge through the instance and not have to stop because I can kill the trash and all the bosses including Rag by farting near them), but I feel like a raid group of level 60's would get slowed down a little more since they'll actually have to fight things and distribute loot and such.
Unless MC is just so easy that a group of 60's can steamroll it just as fast as a level 120 solo can on live. I haven't actually run it in Classic yet, but I've heard all the stories about how easy it is.
Very easily, yes. But you have to get some meta raid comp.

long term objective of getting it to be a 3 hour raid night -- ony followed by MC.
some weakly geared people and not min/maxing, cleared MC in 2 nights for the last two weeks (2 hours each). perfect pace for us.
got a bindings of the wind seeker this week for our MT. hoping for the server first Thunderfury when the time comes.
EDIT: Wait, it was not APES this time. It was another guild. Still 17min MC clear is insane

Tho APES will match it I'm sure

Wonder how fast it could be with two 20 man teams doing two bosses at a time
We've only done Rag 3 times now, and we're at an hour and a half.
I know for a fact half our dps is ...... average, and most don't flask.

we did mc and ony tonight in 1hr 40 which was cool, getting better each time. some ppl in our raids are really good and some are newbies so its a casual guild really. still fastest clear on the server so far, at least, logged. the loot has been a mix of good and disappointing, garr keeps dropping the brutality blade. every week now, think we had one aurastone and 5 brutality blades.
I think it helps if you get all the dps on early to run DM north for the 2hr buffs, and save onys head for a week each week. then you plough through the trash and bosses upto garr. then you lose your dm buffs, or keep them and do baron and shaz then garr.

30 min runs is very possible at this moment in time, Progress is proving that already by almost hitting 30 min mark.
If 30 min is possible, so is 20 min, especially once p2 is out and the entire guild is running around in grand marshal after a few months.
Edit: My guild does MC in just under 50 min
90 min to 2 hours is roughly our average but we also kill ony after so add more time for traveling

There’s quite a bit of difference between private and retail actually. A lot of the math was fill in the blank and private servers use wrong data for everything from boss health to how much damage the player can do
Otherwise we’d be seeing 20 MC clears
I want to say my guild cleared up to Ragnaros in 3 hours and then we didn't have enough Aqual Quintessence among raid members carried (oops). Once we cleared Domo and got a few attempts on Rag it was time to call it. The next night we had to clear Domo again and then we downed Ragnaros after 3 attempts. We did the BRS trick with the mobs for additional FR and downed him the next try.
However, this might be subject to change Tuesday as our Main Tank was super drunk on our last Onyxia clear and decided to take the head a second time ("because it was an open roll"). He gave the head to our bear tank, who returned it not wanting to get into the drama, so the main tank gave it to his shaman friend and then they left the guild. So I got promoted to main tank. I am better at threat generation than the old MT, but I don't have the FR to tank Barron or Ragnaros right now. So that'll probably be delegated to the Bear tank until I get the gear.
This isn't actually the fastest MC clear. The fastest is by Vanguard in 18 minutes 2 seconds including the trash before Lucifron. It's super important to note that the video you posted and the clear I mentioned are both from private servers. Armor values, player buffs, and other things were not the same as Classic WoW and therefore aren't necessarily relevant.
The fastest clear time for MC (timer starting from the first set of giants at the MC entrance) is 36 minutes 19 seconds. The guilds <CN United> and <Progress> are both tied with this time.
My guild is roughly 3 1/2 hours to do both Onxyia then finish with Ragnaros with travel time and whatnot figured in. Now were are rebuilding our Raid2 team, so we will take longer with that squad due to be lesser geared, but will have similar results.
