Kiljaedan and Nathrezim didnt create Frostmourne & Lich King Armor

Turns out all along they were made in the shadowlands! I guess since KJ is dead now they are spitting on his grave in order to promote the new big boi boss. I wonder what new retcons are in store with this expansion!

Honestly, the worst part of this expansion is going to be the fact that it mutilates Scourge lore.

I'm so done at this point. I'm not buying this terrible expansion, and it's getting treated like it doesn't exist and didn't happen.

Nothing is sacred to blizzard, nothing at all.

That's not really retcon, right. Kil'jaden just pulled them from the Shadowlands, effectively "creating them" on the normal realm.

Man, shit like this is probably what infuriates me the most and why it almost feels pointless getting invested in Warcraft's lore in any serious capacity.

Was it really that hard to come up with an explanation that doesn't invalidate previous lore we've known about KJ creating the helm?

Lore is often a matter of perspective. Often we get a 3rd person over view of things others we get the jaded version of a person or group. Frostmourne could still be made by or for KJ and some from the shadow lands forge.

KJ never made it in the first place, he got the Nathrezim to make it for him. While im not a fan of retcons, it isnt a stretch to fit into the story that the Nathrezim either made it or got it made for them at the forge. Blizzard can make it right, but who knows if they will.

They added new lore to a historical point to explain that point with some level of continuity with current story lines. That's a retcon dude. It might not be as drastic as some are, but it still is a retcon nonetheless.

I'm not saying it's good, bad, or indifferent. Or if they can't make it 'fit' or even improve upon it. But that's what they did.

The Nathrezim have long been practitioners of Necromancy, and now we know they have something of a fascination with the Void. It's entirely possible the Helm of Domination was something they had around then they just iterated on it, stuffed it with additional magic, and presented it to Kil'jaeden as fait accompli.

Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see." ― Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead

how do you know that the nathrezim didnt go to the shadowlands to craft the helm of domination and frostmourne??

God, when there just couldn't be more reasons to hate Shadowblands, they just spit on the past that we all love. I can't really tell if it's a joke or not at this point.

My guess is Kil'jaeden didn't know how to make the Helmet only knows how to trap Ner'zhul's soul into something but his Nathrezim buddies knows a guy within the Shadowlands that does, maybe some sort of Blacksmith there. The Nathrezim and Kil'jaeden gave this Shadowlands Blacksmith a huge amount of Anima as payment for creating the Helm of Domination.

In this expansion, we'll probably have to go to this same Blacksmith and create another Helm of Domination, most likely a even stronger one but it's gonna cost us more. So by the end, I'll expect Bolvar to have a Reinforced Helm of Domination which offers greater protection, increased control range and stronger dominating powers.

Maybe Jailer has come sorts of connection with the Legion? I mean demon's souls went to twisting nether instead of shadowlands when they died, there should be a connection there.

I wonder if the souls of demons go somewhere when they are killed in the Twisting Nether or on planets like Argus, who are extremely corrupted by fel magic. Its stated that they permanently die, when they're killed in such places, which means they die like any mortal being would. And the soul of mortal beings goes to the Shadowlands. Do the Shadowlands have a part where demon souls go? Or do the souls of the truly dead demons simply cease to exist completely? That is a thing thats isn't really clear in current Lore or am i missing something?

Just in case someone has forgot, but the Monsters Manual is very clear on who created the Plate of the Damned along with the Helm of Domination

Why does their lore team consist of such losers?

    not surprising.

Nobody seems to be considering at all that this myseterious runeforger might turn out to be Mal’ganis or someone, we’re just now learning WHERE it was forged, and this is elaboration and not a retcon of what we learned in the Arthas novel.

RPG was declared non-canon years ago, prior to even Cataclysm.
