Sanders Apologizes For Alleging That Biden is Corrupt

This deserves it's own thread. This is the first time he has ever apologized. And lays bare the type of attacks he wages on other progressives.

But an apology is nothing without accountability, he must fire Sirota & @ZephyrTeachout to start.

Sanders apologizes to Biden for surrogate's op-ed alleging he has a "big corruption problem"

Des Moines, Iowa — Senator Bernie Sanders apologized to former Vice President Joe Biden on Monday for an op-ed written by one of his campaign surrogates that claimed Biden has a "big corruption problem."

"It is absolutely not my view that Joe is corrupt in any way. And I'm sorry that that op-ed appeared," Sanders told CBS News.

The op-ed, published in The Guardian by law professor Zephyr Teachout, claims Biden "has perfected the art of taking big contributions, then representing his corporate donors at the cost of middle- and working-class Americans."

Then it was sent out from his official campaign.

If he really wants to unify the left, he could apologize to Liz too.

I’m glad he apologized I guess, but that doesn’t stop the op-ed from being spot on.

almost certainly now associates the name Joe Biden with corruption. This is 10/10 pure malarky.

President Trump has already won a second term; it’s basically inevitable at this point. Who is going to possibly defeat him? Biden, who IS corrupt, and who seems to be sliding into senility? Sanders, a Communist that pretends to be a “Democratic Socialist”? This is possibly the best economy in my 42 years of life, or at least the best since President Clinton was in office; who is going to trust Sanders, a dude that’s never worked a day in his life, with such an economy? The man got on welfare almost as soon as he turned 18 and never got off of it as his paychecks still come out of the pockets of tax-payers while he continues to do nothing other than sponsor like three bills in his entire career, two of which were to change the names of local post offices in his area? He pretends to be poor, but I don’t know any poor people that own two or three homes. Or Warren, a woman that lied about being Native American so she could get a fat paycheck each week from Harvard while pretending that she’s a Socialist that wants to fight “evil” Capitalism. Perhaps Bloomberg, a man that is almost certainly insane as he is stupid, a man that makes no bones about wanting to confiscate the firearms of citizens and Bill of Rights be damned?

Mr. Trump, for all of his faults, has strong support and even has fair support amongst Black voters, which is rare for a Republican. For a Democrat to win they need about 90% of the Black vote and they don’t have it right now. Honestly, it’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that President Trump will win a second term. You don’t have a single candidate that would do anything other than be torn limb from limb during a debate with him. For your own health and mental happiness I strongly suggest that you just accept that you have to put up with him for four more years.
Don’t ask me to explain my idiocy; I’m in my early 40’s and still don’t understand it myself.

    Ok, boomer.

So in other news did y'all see that CNN poll where 51% of the country wants to see Trump removed from office? Looks like the actually corrupt candidate has been identified.

What's funnier is if you've ever visited a commune or like a kibbutz the people there tend to be more hardworking and cooperative than any right wing internet edgelord.

Let's be real here, people don't associate Biden with corruption because of that op-ed. They associate him with corruption because it appears sketchy that his son got high paying jobs in both Ukraine and China.

And I'm just saying appears here because I know there's no proof of corruption. It just kind of looks like it.

The really sad part. It was after Trump and the GOP tons of resources trying to prove corruption and failed. That Bernie decided to agree with the GOP and try again.

What will Bernie agree with the GOP on next?

So, not only do you not know what a run-on sentence is, you don't know what a communist is. We don't have any of those in power. You are probably so far to the right, that anyone to the left of you is seen as a communist.

Literally NOTHING Trump has done, has effected the economy, except slow it down. Americans are paying more in taxes, unless you make $400k or more. Thanks to his tax cuts and his fucking tariffs. Everything that was happening, was trending up for the economy while unemployment was trending down thanks to Obama.

The thing about Warren, is she didn't lie. Her family told her they had Native American history in their family, and they did. And there is NO EVIDENCE that she got a boost from anything for being a native american either. So that is just another lie.

Has Bloomberg said he wants to confiscate weapons? Because I can't seem to find it.

And no Trump hasn't been fair to black voters, the smart ones know his 40+ years of fucking racism.

The top 5 Dem candidates, are all beating Trump right now.

It is fitting how right you are in your own signature though, thanks for pointing it out, but you don't have to advertise it to the rest of the world.

If you’d read the op-ed you would know that it doesn’t at all address the “Hunter Biden/Burisma” issue that the GOP has been obsessed with. It’s about the garden-variety swampy soft corruption that plagues our system and that people hate.

    Yeah........but..........

...it came out on the eve of the impeachment trial, during which the President will assert his call to look into the corruption of Biden was entirely appropriate. And now it makes it seem like this campaign ad from Bernie wants to agree with that....

...I mean, if we're allowed to purport unsaid meaning on Warren's story to say "actually she was really trying to super secretly say Bernie is a misogynist," that's the conclusion we can draw here, right? That's how it works?

Do you have any evidence, such as poll data, to suggest that Trump has significantly more support than prior Republican presidential candidates? For that matter, do you also happen to have any data supporting your assertion that Trump is more well-liked than all of the Democratic candidates?

If not, I'll assume you are straight up bad-faith posting in an attempt to derail the thread.

The timing is bad sure. It’s also an argument people have been making about Biden since before he jumped into the race

Trump is a corrupt racist who has bragged about sexually assaulting women, and being a peeping Tom on underage girls.

If his victory is a foregone conclusion, what does that say about the average American voter, or people like you who shill for him?
