Very tragic for all involved. Can't imagine what the last moments were like.

Seems like foggy weather where they should have been grounded.
Due to light rain and foggy weather that morning, the LAPD helicopters[462] and most other air traffic were grounded.[464] The flight tracker shows that the helicopter experienced issues while above the L.A. Zoo. The helicopter circled the area six times at an altitude of around 850 feet. At 9:30 a.m. the pilot contacted the Burbank Airport's control tower,[464] notifying the tower of the situation. At that time, the helicopter experienced extreme fog and turned south towards the mountains. At 9:40 a.m. the helicopter climbed in altitude from 370 to 610 metres (1,200 to 2,000 ft) flying at 161 knots (298 km/h; 185 mph).[464]
At 9:45 a.m. the helicopter crashed into the side of a mountain in Calabasas, about 30 miles (48 km) northwest of downtown Los Angeles, and caught on fire.[465][464] At 9:47 a.m. authorities were called. The helicopter had passed over Boyle Heights, near Dodger Stadium, and circled over Glendale during the flight. Personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department attended the scene. The fire had been extinguished by 10:30 a.m.[466][467] None of the nine occupants survived. Initial reports indicated that the helicopter crashed in the hills above Calabasas in heavy fog.[468][469] Witnesses reported hearing a helicopter struggling before crashing.[461]
It wasn't just an accusation. His victim suffered injuries consistent with rape, and her blood that was deemed to be non-menstrual was found on his clothing.
I feel sorry for his kids. I also feel sorry for the woman he raped, who is now going to have to watch everyone praise the man who raped her.

I don't even watch basketball and this hurt a little inside. It was just such a sudden shock when I heard about it. To see Kobe Bryant and dead in the same sentence is just fucking crazy. I can't imagine what his wife and other daughters are going through right now.
To lose two family members in the same day...
- "If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black" - Jo Bodin, BLM supporter
- "I got hairy legs that turn blonde in the sun. The kids used to come up and reach in the pool & rub my leg down so it was straight & watch the hair come back up again. So I learned about roaches, I learned about kids jumping on my lap, and I love kids jumping on my lap...” - Pedo Joe
Would the Kobe apologiests be as forgiving if Weinstein died today? I mean after all he was a great director not convicted of anything *end sarcasm*
The news is indeed a sad one. May God be with his family through the hard moment
Terrible happening - I thought Kobe's Helicopter was black though. Black Mamba? They keep showing a blue/white striped helicopter saying that was his copter on the news.

43 ish seconds into the video it shows the helicopter. Is his helicopter blue or is it black?
Eh yeah sorry that is incorrect the pilot was given clearance to fly and is also a certified pilot and instructor for that aircraft and instrument rating. It has not been determined by anything I have seen so far that he shouldn't have been flying.
Because indeed if he shouldn't have been, he wouldn't have been cleared or circling downtown L.A before being given the clearance by Air Traffic Control along with routing information.
It is suspected by some not most that foggy conditions was factor.

I usually don't care much when a celebrity I like dies. I say "that sucks" and move on. For basketball its different somehow. Not sure if I can explain it easily in words. Basketball was a type of escapism for me growing up, as my mid/early teen years were not the greatest years of my life. I grew up watching Kobe. He was never my favorite player but I always liked him. His work ethic was insane, he was the closest thing we had to Jordan, and he helped tons of young basketball players. He had just retired and just started enjoying the fruits of his labor and spending time with his family. I was looking forward to how he would contribute to the game of basketball after his retirement. He also didn't get to do his hall of fame induction speech.
I wouldn't go as far as calling him family or saying that my life is changed forever, but his death definitely stings. I understand people not caring much about his death, but you should understand why people do.
I don't understand why everyone in the world apparently has such a strong emotional connection to somebody they've likely never met.
Like where the fuck is all this coming from? I rarely heard about him / new he existed in the last few years but apparently he's everybody's best friend.
