Well, even ignoring the numerous problems with the whole Jesus story (which we really should not get too far into for reasons)... there are numerous things in Passion that Gibson just either gets totally wrong or makes up entirely. There's this whole thing where Jesus invents dinner tables for example. We have definitive proof that dinner tables existed before that point in history. Then there are the tools with which Jesus was tortured with which don't seem to have existed at the time.

So, really the Passion has problems both staying true to the Jesus Legend and historical accuracy.

But it's really great torture porn if that's what gets you going.

No. I do not look forward to it.

It'll cause a damned ruckus if nothing else though.

Lmao, I don't remember much of the movie but that part about dinner tables was hilarious, that I do remember.

My favourite thing about it isn't even that Gibson is pretending that Jesus invented dinner tables. My favourite thing is that Jesus invented dinner tables...and his mother, The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, is basically like "whatever, loser" about the whole thing.

"I gave birth to the miracle child...and all he can come up with is a table that's too tall to be useful..."

What is it with the constant disparaging of the male identity and gender in culture at the hands of women? What's worse is when guys agree with it. Such that if it's a man he ofc has to be a loser that's berated by his mum.. cos all guys you know are losers, and need women to berate them constnatly...???
