I wonder if they'll start to pivot away from Trumpism and back to their usual shtick - Fox is caught in a cleft stick because Murdoch is trying to encourage them to concede (a fascist revolution would be bad for business... for now) but the rabid fanbase in the US won't accept anything like that.

Were they the first to break this story?
Man, the degree to which they shot themselves in the foot with the stimulus package debate was astonishing. I was scrolling through all the "pwease mr twump we need welief" posts, Jesus Christ can they grovel. As if the Republicans gave two shits about them.
I'm still not sure if they actually thought they could straight up kick their entire base in the dick and count on their mental gymnastics to not lose a single vote, or if they saw the defeat coming and figured they'd just transition into obstructionism early because they were going to lose anyway...

A decade from now you'll be telling the next generation "How can you fall for this same shit again? We already went through this with Trump!" and they'll all say "Who's Trump? And what's a Pokemon?".

Apparently that's the case. In no small part because they were apparently looking to get AWAY from the downtown area where they knew they'd have a hostile crowd of Biden supporters interrupting the press conference.
Trump just didn't pay attention when he was told and only heard "Four Seasons", and naturally assumed the hotel. Which is like...very believable, IMO.

Growing Discomfort at Law Firms Representing Trump in Election Lawsuits
Doing business with Mr. Trump — with his history of inflammatory rhetoric, meritless lawsuits and refusal to pay what he owes — has long induced heartburn among lawyers, contractors, suppliers and lenders. But the concerns are taking on new urgency as the president seeks to raise doubts about the election results.
Some senior lawyers at Jones Day, one of the country’s largest law firms, are worried that it is advancing arguments that lack evidence and may be helping Mr. Trump and his allies undermine the integrity of American elections, according to interviews with nine partners and associates, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to protect their jobs.
At another large firm, Porter Wright Morris & Arthur, based in Columbus, Ohio, lawyers have held internal meetings to voice similar concerns about their firm’s election-related work for Mr. Trump and the Republican Party, according to people at the firm. At least one lawyer quit in protest.
As Mr. Trump campaigned for president in 2016, a Jones Day partner, Donald F. McGahn II, served as his outside lawyer, leading recount fights in critical states. Mr. McGahn later became Mr. Trump’s White House counsel, before returning to Jones Day.
At the time, some senior lawyers at Jones Day objected to working closely for a polarizing presidential candidate, according to three partners at the firm. They grimaced at the sight of Mr. McGahn standing with Mr. Trump onstage after he won the New Hampshire primary in February 2016. A month later, the firm hosted a meeting at its Capitol Hill office with Mr. Trump and Republican lawmakers as he sought to win over the party establishment.
The firm’s work for Mr. Trump has also garnered it unfavorable public attention. “Jones Day, Hands Off Our Ballots,” read a mural painted on the street outside the law firm’s San Francisco offices late last week.
The depth of my concern for people who intentionally worked for Trump, only to realize doing unethical things publicly might make them look bad, would barely cover a pencil on its side. But it would probably completely cover up their dignity. Before the 2020 campaign, some partners at Jones Day said, they had to reassure clients that the firm’s representation of the Trump team would not influence the rest of the firm’s work, according to four partners. Lawyers at the firm have worked to promote gun control and have represented unaccompanied minors, including many detained by the federal government.
But partners generally swallowed their concerns about the close relationship with Mr. Trump.
Then the president and his allies, down in the polls, began fanning fears about voter fraud, part of a broader effort to sow doubts about the integrity of the election.
Six Jones Day lawyers said that given the small number of late-arriving ballots involved in the litigation, and the fact that they already had been segregated, the main goal of the litigation seemed to be to erode public confidence in the election results.
Jones Day did not respond to a request for comment.
In recent days, two Jones Day lawyers said they had faced heckling from friends and others on social media about working at a firm that is supporting Mr. Trump’s efforts.
A lawyer in Jones Day’s Washington office felt that the firm risked hurting itself by taking on work that undermined the rule of law. “To me, it seems extremely shortsighted,” the lawyer said.

It's a fine line. Gotta keep the conspiracy theories hooked and not turn them off. For now they'll walk the tightrope between both, but Biden's gonna get sworn in jan 20th. So yeah they'll pivot away the futher we go and go back to their usual shtick. They'll go back to crying that he wore a bike helmet, or dijon mustard, or not wearing a suit jacket or wearing a tan suit or some other bullshit to keep their base angry and tuned in. The base doesn't have anywhere else to go. And don't give me OANN because look at fox base. avg age is 75. people that old are pretty stuck in their patterns and unlikely to abandon for another network. And especially if they let trump have the reigns of OANN, well it'll be shortly bankrupt.
On that Barr announcement, I in particular don’t like the use of the word “irregularities” in this context. It is way too broad.
Now, this could all just be for show but it’s really dangerous nonetheless, and it shows that democracy in this country has one foot in the grave and the other is on a banana peal.
I feel like Trumpism has done permanent damage to the old Republican con. It's going to take a generation before anyone starts to forget what they saw here, and furthermore his base is no longer content to wear sheepskin. They want to be out and proud and they don't understand why establishment Republicans and Fox News types are trying to keep their odious nature under wraps.
If 2020 has proved anything it's that they won't wear masks anymore, even if it kills them.

man i took some infraction points at a bad time. Where is that burner who gets to 10 posts before they are banned who said they had 6 figures on trump and had studied polling and betting markets for 20 years.
where you at buddy?

Politico has grouped up Republican responses to Trump's refusal to concede, and put them in three easy to remember clubs -
All-in On Trump
Let Things Play Out
The Rip-the-Band-Aid Caucus
The last group appears to be mostly made up of retiring Republicans with nothing to lose. The first group has all the names you'd expect to see from Cruz to Gaetz.
