She's earned it. Can you imagine endorsing a Kennedy challenging an effective, newly progressive incumbent in Markey? I wonder if that'll be awkward when Markey returns to D.C....of course, he's a Senator and Pelosi is in the House, so maybe she doesn't see him much.
Government Affiliated Snark
I could be way off, but I'm guessing a portion of the people backing Trump aren't going to back someone jewish.
In some way, Nancy Pelosi and Trump are in the same boat. Half of the country do not like either of them. GOP never did like the idea of a woman becoming a speaker of the house. A liberal Democrat (at the time anyway) at that. They have been demonizing her ever since then.
Fortunately, unlike Trump she is not running for the executive office. She only needs to win SF. They love her there. She did a lot of good for SF. She brought funding to combat the AIDs epidemic in SF. Boston would still be #1 for life science industry if it was not for Nancy Pelosi support for the redevelopment of 300 acres of an old industrial district into the Mission Bay Biotech Cluster during the fight against AIDs. SF tuna industry would have gone the way of SD tuna industry if it wasn't for her support.

Official number, 364.5 million in August. More than 1.5 million first time contributors. Over 205 million in small donations.

The dumb thing was Kennedy challenging him in the first place. Both he and Markey agreed on all political issues, Kennedy just thought he deserved it because of his name. And Kennedy had the big money behind him.
And the dumber thing was one of the party leaders endorsing a challenger, just because of his name, over a well-established incumbent who hadn't done anything wrong.
It's not a matter of progressive vs. establishment, seeing as both men's politics are very similar. It's about Joe Kennedy's insistence he's owed a Senate seat.
I was more interested in the Neal/Morse seat. If there's an incumbent that needed to go, it was Richard Neal, one of the most corrupt Democrats in Congress. Too bad his hit job on Morse seemed to work.
1-2 weeks minimum until we get results especially considering the clusterfuck Trump has set up in order to cheat. Between the USPS delays which will lead to lawsuits, voter suppression, intimidation and Trump's right wing Qanon psychos pulling stunts expecting this to take a few days is not realistic. This may even end up like an Al Gore V. Bush type of situation where the supreme court has to settle things.
Based on the letter below, I take it that Trump's fund raising in August did not fare as well as Biden's. Imagine that. A billionaire begging for donation. I don't remember Bloomberg doing that.
I'm expecting that initial results will be strongly Trump, and then as mail-in votes trickle in, it shifts to strongly Biden. And Trump is gonna bleat that it's evidence of corruption and election fraud, and that the election must be declared illegitimate.
This is going to be a gigantic mess. On purpose. By design.
I absolutely love how the Democrats are dirty socialists and rich elitists at the same time. If there is one thing the GOP is very good at, it is making words mean exactly what they say they mean. It is why their tactic of saying stupid things consistently actually works. If you constantly say a stupid thing, people start thinking it must be true, because they hear it all the time.
The hair salon thing is nonsense. The rules closing hair salons went into effect the day after her haircut, and the salon's rules at the time was to serve one customer at a time.
She should be rightly criticized for endorsing Kennedy, but don't include this fucking stupid Red Rose Brigade bullshit.
This is why I think people should absolutely go vote in person.
Some things are worth risking your health for, as long as you take as many precautions as you can. The George Floyd protests were one of them.....voting on election day will be another.
We cannot let this dude throw and hint of illegitimacy on the election.
