Not true... he is on social security and doesn’t seem to give a fuck that it’s been defunding for 46 days now... Trump promised to make that permanent. So... no... something else is at play...

Good grief!! How could you have this many duplicate ballots?......https://www.foxnews.com/politics/pen...tions-rejected

Pennsylvania has cast off hundreds of thousands of applications for mail-in ballots ahead of the 2020 election, because of confusion about the process.

About 372,000 requests were rejected, as reported by ProPublica on Friday, largely because many of them, about 90%, were duplicates. Overall, one out of every five requests for mail-in ballots are being rejected, according to the publication.

The main reason? Many people who voted during the June primaries may have already checked a box to request a mail-in ballot for the November election.

However, as noted by ProPublica, people who made more than one request should eventually receive their ballot. They can also head to the polls on Election Day.

The reason is explained, but this shows us the potential of a mess we could have during this election.

Given the time difference I'm hoping I'll just be sleeping soundly through the results and waking up to the news that some small amount of sanity has been restored.

Not really. It shows there's a lot of confusion now, but that they're finding these mistakes ahead of the election means that they can they can factor this into their planning. They only count one ballot, and this are simply duplicate requests.

Pennsylvania is ground zero for election lawsuits. When the rules kept changing this close to election day. Mistakes will happen.

There are no duplicate ballots. These are ballot requests. Some people ticked a box, forgot they ticked it, so they ticked another. The state noted that they had already made the request, ignores it, and will send their ballot as they originally requested. It's basically a non-story, but Fox News specializes in scraping shit off the floor and driving conservatives into a frenzy with it. And clearly it works.

Trumphadi Cultists are desperate for anything they can pretend discredits mail in voting because that is the marching orders they got from their God Emperor.

Doesn't matter how detached from reality their spin is; if it looks like it might help their rhetoric, they regurgitate it.

Initial signs seem to point to this notion not working. I'm still wary about hearing that successfully turned in and counted ballots were "later discarded or eventually lost" en masse because of some Trump fuckery, though.

Because pending that, things seem to be going pretty swimmingly. Other than long wait times and the republicans sabotaging their own voters in California, I've not heard tell of Trump's strategies amounting to much of anything; no brownshirts "poll enforcers" driving people off from polls or mail-in ballots going uncounted or being dumped at post offices.

And, frankly, the lack of any major poll fuckery, (though likely to have been perpetrated by Trump's efforts in some way or another anyway) really dampers any subsequent claims Trump might try and make that the popular vote in each state and subsequently the natural elector allocation would be "in question" and require trump-friendly courts to rule in his favor in swing states. In essence, the smoother things go and the more legitimate the election is, the less likely Trump is to win it.

Moreover, thinking on a state-by-state basis, and someone please do correct me if I'm wrong, but... while I've no doubt that Trump might have installed various loyalist goons into judge positions here and there and might even have some sycophant governors ready to jerk him off (like in oh, say, Florida,) there are any number of other ballot measures and government positions that people are voting on in the same ballot. If Trump wants to go through state-by-state and declare huge swaths of ballots uncountable and have them thrown out in the numerous swing states he would have otherwise lost in a legitimate count... wouldn't all of those measures and positions, then, need to be re-litigated? It'd be a clerical nightmare for any and all states affected, because while Trump's means to seizing the presidency after having lost both the popular and electoral college vote might be theoretically possible, all of the states going along with it would effectively be hung out to dry and sort out through a potentially colossal legal and bureaucratic clusterfuck as all of these issues have to be settled and the means to settle them worked out, which itself could cascade down into various other legal clusterfucks as interested parties on various sides of whatever ballot measures cast into doubt bring their legal forces to bear. So much so that I kind of doubt how many collective state legislators and governors are willing to take this upon themselves to go to bat for Trump over this. Especially if it's clear to them that the ballot count Trump wants them to throw out painted a pretty resounding defeat for him.

But of course, that all remains to be seen; I place next to zero faith in the republican party, elected, appointed, or otherwise, to do the right thing in any given situation, no matter how much it screws them and their constituency over down the line, especially when it comes to caving to Trump.

People just need to keep going out to vote.

I've been pretty amazed at how lame the anti-Biden comments have been.

They are either so over the top that they are just plain stupid, or they are super lame.

It's because the bar for stupidity is now Donald Trump. That's not to say that Biden's gaffes would be of consequence anyway, but when you have a walking talking bag of excrement in the form of Trump, it becomes difficult to identify other things as 'well that was stupid'. So his fans are lost.

    Reposting this:

According to Forbes, Trump doesn't owe 421 million dollars in debt. Instead, he owes at least one billion dollars in debt.

No, what it shows is that the system is working. All those requests for duplicate ballots were rejected.

But thanks for providing more evidence regarding how secure mail in ballots are.

Texas turnout is out of this world. So far 2,647,845 votes are in (29.5% of 2016). Texas is beating CA and FL in term of turnout.

Dallas, Harris, Tarrant, Collins and Denton are all doing well. Tarrant County is adding 8 more polling places to keep up with demand.

It's a good sign for voter turnout everywhere, but I'm not nearly enough of a dreamer to think that Texas would turn blue. Not for another decade at least, and not without the republicans kicking and screaming the entire way down.
