What? You think a self proclaimed progressive’s solution to CEOs, being different CEOs that are more scared, is strange? Remember... the problem is HR and that darned sensitivity training...

Modern capitalism as a system is far more exploitative than any past economic system could imagine, and is just as much at the cost of the workers as any prior system could be described to be. Jeff Bezos doesn't make money out of nothing. He makes money by shortchanging his staff and skimming profits off his customers, among other measures that I'd need to be writing a major research paper to properly delineate. That's how all big executives make their money. The workers produce value, the owners take that value. That's literally what capitalism is.

Your position is no different than saying "Why shouldn't the king have a bejeweled throne made of gold if he wants one? His peasants should work harder if they want to eat better." Literally the same mentality and argument. You're essentially arguing for the "divine right of CEOs".

Edit: Before anyone says "but slavery" or the like, I'm speaking to the entire economic model and how it affects the whole population. I'll freely acknowledge that some past economies have exploited some groups more than modern capitalism exploits the entire working public. Not to mention, that transatlantic slave trade was early capitalism.

No, because they take advantage of their workers by pulling in a MASSIVE salary, and even more in benefits and bonuses.

Should a CEO make more than a rank and file worker? Of course

Should a CEO make 200x what a rank and file workers makes? No.

The existence of said CEOs making 200x what their workers make SHOULD be a crime.

It’s not airlines... we are a small company... every penny counts... It’s the best place I ever worked... sticking through, hoping for the best...

    I’m at 30 hours...

Edit: I even told them I don’t care about the hours, but they hounded me to make sure it’s no more than 30. I’m like... I don’t care... I’ll say it’s 30 regardless... nope... hounding me to be off at 30.

It's why it's scary to think if trump wins, republicans keep the senate, i feel the dem's will have no choice but to give in to whatever poison stimulus the GOP offer that has no employee protection.

For us, it’s the other end of it... the more covid keeping people from gathering, the more likely my work will fold. My job and my employer depend on a president that will have a national plan to combat covid. Plus, I’d kinda like to visit my folks across the country, without fear of infecting them from the flight. That would be a good bonus... I would have been there at least twice... that’s 14 days I’m not getting back... feckless piece of shit...

Edit: Sorry, let me be fair and balanced... Antifa!!!!!!!!!!

The unsung October Surprise of 2020.

    Biden's popularity keeps rising!

Biden was up 10+ versus Trump in late 2019 too. Why didn't people it take it seriously?
The Media was also operating under the assumption that he would get crushed in the primary because it's Bernie's party now.
Partly because it was so far out, but also the assumption that a well-funded Trump would easily raise his negatives.

    Nikansen's Matt Grossman explains
Over the campaign, Biden has increasingly outperformed a generic Democratic House candidate whereas Trump started by strongly outperforming a generic Republican House candidate & now underperforms them.

Biden also continues to do better than Sanders in head-to-head matchups with Trump

If Biden’s personal advantage holds through the election, pundits who argued that Biden’s electability advantage was unreal or based on a voter misunderstanding may need to revisit those takes.

My own prediction #1 turned out to be wrong. Republicans have been unable to move Biden’s favorability downward the way they did with Hillary. In fact, the campaign has improved it. Republicans have still been shouting “socialist” but it hasn’t stuck to Biden.

It’s the aviator glasses... You might think I am joking, but that invokes an image, that’s keeping Biden clean. That’s the “magic” I keep talking about... I don’t mean mysticism, I mean that when you see those glasses, they have pop culture iconography. You don’t think Antifa, you subconsciously think of CHIPS or cops in all those pop culture reference frames.

In other words, conservative boomers... it’s a boomer vs Gordon Gekko... which in it self is a boomer reference... but, being ironically self aware, is so Gen X... ok... I’m good...
