Once again both sides of the aisle do this. I agree it should not happen but it does. But it is one of the checks and balances of the US model of government.
What if the will of the people 6 years ago was to spend money on roads. Come forward 4 years the governor is still in office from back then with the build road agenda. Now the people say no more roads and elect legislatures that are not for building roads. They then check the governors office from building more roads.
Stupid example but I think it lays it out.
I do agree that having an organization of lobbyists is horrible. They bend the law away from the will of the people and for some special interest group. Why because they can throw more money at the legislature campaigns. But trying to stamp them out you run into first amendment rights issues.
I don't agree but it happens from both sides.
