Once again both sides of the aisle do this. I agree it should not happen but it does. But it is one of the checks and balances of the US model of government.

What if the will of the people 6 years ago was to spend money on roads. Come forward 4 years the governor is still in office from back then with the build road agenda. Now the people say no more roads and elect legislatures that are not for building roads. They then check the governors office from building more roads.
Stupid example but I think it lays it out.

I do agree that having an organization of lobbyists is horrible. They bend the law away from the will of the people and for some special interest group. Why because they can throw more money at the legislature campaigns. But trying to stamp them out you run into first amendment rights issues.

I don't agree but it happens from both sides.

And that's not a check, that's weaponizing the co-equal powers the branches were given for partisan gain. It's something that has not been a feature of American Democracy until very recently, and to my knowledge has been exclusively used by the Republican party.

If you have links to Democrats doing the same, please share them as I'd be interested to read about it.

Bugger off. Seriously; bugger off. We're in the middle of a plague that, due to GOP mismanagement, has seen avoidable deaths to the point that Team America is no longer a joke, and y'all are out here still pushing this ridiculous both sides argument to make yourselves look like such smart little independent voters.

It's disgusting, craven behavior, and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Ya and what if I shit out gold bricks then I would be a millionaire but I can't. Oh I am sorry we aren't playing the fantasy game where we say out of nowhere shit that we make up from out minds. So again Mr. "BOTH SIDES!!!!!!!" show us the proof of this both sides and not your imaginary ramblings. Republicans here just like throughout the country are the ones pulling the shady, backroom dealing, destruction of our Democracy. So again unless you can show proof go find the door and don't let it his your ass on the way out.

That’s the problem... Both sides does work when it’s Bush vs Clinton, Clinton vs Dole, Gore vs Bush, Bush vs Kerry, McCain vs Obama and Obama vs Romney... It never worked with Hillary and Trump, while still doesn’t work with Trump vs Biden. I link this all the time, but when Bush jr took over after Clinton, the GOP platform wasn’t conspiracy theory, but downright progressive... complaining about a country with a booming economy, set a drift.

Trump and the modern GOP are not “normal”... using the old argument, as healthcare is dismantled and corporations get a 15% tax cut, doesn’t make sense. Hate one ACA all you want, but TrumpCare has caused millions to lose healthcare. Trump cut significant regulations from Obama and even prior, from legalizing espestos to expanded drilling to lowering clean water act standards to dismantling pandemic response team. If they are all the same, whose regulations is Trump removing? Why didn’t Obama give corporations a 15% tax cut?

I know I’m preaching to the choir, but op won’t reply. Just a simple question for those saying for the both are the same argument... Who put up the regulations and social programs Trump is dismantling, if they are both the same? It’s an illogical premise...
