It's an essay, not a dissertation.

Which is probably fine given it was likely written as an assignment for someone learning game design. That doesn't mean that I think it's a good analysis of grinding, hence all my comments on the issue. It's a (imho) biased, one sided analysis.

As far as whether it was a good essay in terms of the assignment, that'd depend on the prompt.
