    Multiboxing legacy raids

Hello, whats happens if you go with 2 accounts up to 8 in old raid bosses where a mount is dropped?

What happens if you kill the Lich King with 2 toons?
What happens if you kill Guldan with 8 toons?

Do you have the normal canche of the mount divided for the number of toons or moltiplied for it?

Dug around and this seems to be the case:

Legacy Loot applies to loot only.

    PRE-LEGION
Any Mount that drops and is lootable, is a raid percentage. 1% chance to get Invincible's mount lootable on his dead body. So bringing friends or multiboxing, would not increase the chance for it to show up. Your chance to get it would be split further by having to roll for it with the other party members.

    LEGION
Legion however started making mounts and pets show up in your bag as Personal Loot. Those seem to be 1% per character. So clearing in a group for speed or multiboxing 10 toons on Guldan/Mistress/Dogs/Argus would be 1% PER CHARACTER.

depends if the item is lootable from the boss, or does the item spawn in your bags on kill

if its loot on the boss, having more players doesnt increase the chance to get it

if the loot spawns in your bags you have higher chances per player

Each character has a 1% chance to get the mount with a maximum of 1 mount possible per lockout. More characters per lockout does not increase the chance to drop overall, but it does give more chances for one to drop.
To try and clarify, each character has a 1% chance to get the mount. Taking 8 characters does not increase that to an 8% chance, it just means there are more characters that get to roll the dice for the mount to drop.
So, short answer is: the more characters that kill a boss the better a chance at seeing a mount, but not because of an additive % increase.

Longer example: 10 people step up to flip a coin, which is a 50% chance to land heads. That doesn’t mean 5 out of 10 will land heads and the other tails, nor does it mean you have a 500% chance of landing heads 1 time. What it does mean is that, due to randomness and chance, you could possibly have all 10 land heads, or 3 people, or none. So there’s no increased chance that guarantees landing heads, but the more people that flip the better the chance that someone will land on heads.

This is only how it works in Legion.

Pre-Legion and BFA both have loot on the corpse, which is a 'per raid' chance.

To explain better. The chance of not getting the mount on personal loot is .99^n. so for 8 people it is .99^8 which is .99x.99x.99x.99x.99x.99x.99x.99 = .923 that you will not get it. So the chance that it will drop could be 7.7 percent on personal loot for 8 people.

F.ex if you multibox 2 characters on 2 battlenet accounts and none has the mount.... and mount drops for battlenet nr 2... you cant trade the mount to battlenet nr 1... (however if you dont actually learn the mount, you can transfere that character with the mount to battlenet nr 1, then learn the mount).

If later on, a mount drops for a battlenet account that has learned the mount... then you can trade the mount to other eligable in the party/raid.

Moral of the story: if you run with people/battlenet accounts that already have the mount in question... the higher the odds you will get it, if it drops. Its not a high chance... but a bit bigger none the less.

*a battlenet account can max have 8 wow accounts. These 8 share mounts, toys, pets etc.

If your multiboxing, there's nothing keeping you from running each toon in a separate instance. If its lootable from the boss then your chances would become x8.
