Which class to pick with a Priest?

Friend is making a Priest alt for Shadowlands. We will primarily run WPvP, Arena, Battlegrounds, and Dungeons. Which class would be best with it? The poll is multiple choice. I am leaning towards Mage or Warlock, but looking for some feedback.

    Thanks!

I don't think these kinds of threads are allowed, but I'd say you should pick something that can tank.

Looking at why (explanation) a class that someone would pick with a Priest is considered "threads that aren't allowed"? Hopefully it's untrue. But thanks for the suggestion with "something that can tank". I do have a 120 Druid and Monk.

Holy trinity was formerly Warrior/Priest/Mage. So... depends if you want your friend tanking or doing damage. Any tank class would do.

Priests offer a lot of healing and damage-dealing but are invariably made of paper. To best pair, plate-wearing classes like Warriors offer a lot of physical protection and tools to take aggro from monsters. Death Knights, Paladins, and Monks also have good aggro control to take threat from your Priest buddy to ensure they survive, but they offer a lot more of their own self-healing. These would probably be a good choice if your friend is very new to the game and/or isn't planning on being a healer and is leaning towards Shadow - that way you can be a bit more self-sufficient while also being able to escort them through content safely when they get in a pinch. Otherwise, if your friend is going the route of a healer, a Warrior probably offers the most variety in terms of plate-clad tools. High mobility of the Warrior and Monk can also be useful if your friend is prone to running off on their own as well. But if your friend is constantly staying near you, the DK or Paladin may be a good fit. Paladin uniquely has some off-healing and tools like Lay on Hands can probably save your friend's life if they ever get low. The world isn't as dangerous as it used to be, but considering how you expect your friend to play can point you in a good direction in terms of these classes. Since you're playing together, the ability to res each other if one of you dies can be solved by sticking to an option like Monk or Paladin which can rez out of combat freely as well - though if you want to circumvent this, Engineering can also offer Cables later on as a way to circumvent this if something like a Warrior or DK otherwise sounds ideal.

"Help Me Choose" type threads don't tend to produce much in the way of constructive discussion or debate. Please check online resources or the class-specific subforums if you have further questions. Closing this.

Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see." ― Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
