Then, in time, one Justice will be replaced for every Congress, and if somebody stalls the process that doesn't really matter, because they can only nominate 1 in the next Congress anyway. Each President would have the opportunity to nominate at least 2 Justices, at most 4 if re-elected. Presidents would not be incentivized to nominate young (relatively speaking) nominees for their pick to serve for ever-longer terms, but have a larger spread of ages that are viable as a choice allowing them to choose the most qualified individual. Wouldn't that be something? Too optimistic an outcome? Probably.
I would definitely like to see this particular reform, i.e. one justice per Congress and the oldest one rotates out. I would have no problem with the Dems expanding the court when they can, but they should also include reform as part of the package.

Only thing that you think the democrats have gone "radical left" says is how far to the right you yourself have moved.

The US practically does not have an actual left wing party in federal level politics.

Gonna be a big old brawl. We need to occupy the streets outside the Capitol if they try and bring a nominee to the vote.

While the enthusiasm is appreciated, all the money in the world can't stop the GOP from cheating their way into a victory.

That’s not what we were talking about.

We were taking about the ideological diversity within the one large tent party. The Democratic coalition runs the gamut from finance executives to socialists. That’s not “30 years ago,” that’s today

2016 was won because of many issues, but "muh economic anxiety" wasnt one.

Also, latest polling shows Biden 9 points ahead of Trump. And what's with RCP lowering the biden spread by so much? RCP average is 6 points but he's consistently polled 9-12 points ahead, apart from Rasmussen?

With the above from McConnell, and the obvious hypocritical decisions coming up (McTurtle has already said they are voting on RBG's replacement) the Democrats, if and when they have the chance, need to increase the court. From where it is at 9 to either 11 or 13 (needs to be an odd number, even if historically it was once at 12).

And after that (and after packing the courts), pass legislation re-instating the 60 vote mandate, state that SC seats cannot be increased further... and do something to ensure that they represent the society they are in.

We're 3 weeks from that. 4 at most. I hope the Dems have an October surprise prepared and ready on october 19 or something

This, entirely. If Biden wins and the Senate flips, the Democrats will have two years of legislative freedom - they need to run the gammit.

SCOTUS stack to 11 or 13
    D.C. and Puerto Rico statehood
    M4A (however that will look)
Repeal the GOP Tax Bonus for the Rich
    (more than this of course)

Losing RBG was horrible, objectively. Allowing the GOP to replace her (and I think they will) is the worst sort of irony.

Absolutely none of this will happen.

Personally, I would like to see Trump in handcuffs along with Pence, his entire administration to follow and a thorough investigation into every bit of maleficence and corrupt action taken by Trump and everyone who took a bribe.

What Trump has done has reach way beyond him, and for this country to have any credibility going forward I think this is a must.

One of the only human moments I've seen from Trump, in regards to RBG's death:

But I still think they'll ram through another justice and Biden will need to expand the SCOTUS.
We also have to consider that if the Senators don't vote prior to the election, they can still fill the seat during the lame duck session. IIRC, nothing actually prevents that from happening.

It will be so damn interesting to see upcoming senate race polls. Never underestimate McConnell, but this is not necessarily a disaster for democrats. The GOP is certainly sweating right now.

And even if Trump/McConnell get someone in, it will give plenty of ground to democrats to expand the court, which might even lead to the depoliticization of it. Just saying.
