Well I have been suggesting a Void skin for paladins for a long time. Maybe put it on the shop. All Paladin skills and icons would be reworked to look purple/black like the Void. Lorewise there are cases of Paladins who went down this dark path. The Twilight's Hammer Cult employed paladins called Twilight Vindicators amongst its ranks.
The Void. A force of infinite hunger. Its whispers have broken the will of dragons... and lured even the titans' own children into madness. Sages and scholars fear the Void. But we understand a truth they do not. That the Void is a power to be harnessed... to be bent by a will strong enough to command it. The Void has shaped us... changed us. But you will become its master. Wield the shadows as a weapon to save our world... and defend the Alliance!

The Plague and various Scourge invasion events reached the world over, involving all races, and certainly Naxx is one of the few raids to actually reoccur. And even if we're just talking about total class quests, the DK starting zone basically goes over and above the four Artifact lines Druids would otherwise be holding over them not even to mention all the focus they have in Northrend as a DK-central expansion filled to the brim with LK/Scourge lore to say nothing of all the dungeons in Wrath that all stay involved with these ties as well. There's an absolute ton of DK lore in abundance throughout the entire game. You may not find as many individual DK NPCs in your day to day hubs as quest-givers or vendors but in terms of total connections in lore I think DKs have the most to offer in total.
    DK's for sure.

Arthas is the heart of the franchise.

agreed. no class can come close. the abillities and different specs perfectly match with the theme, and its the one class with the most lore behind it (they are closesly connected with the story of the most iconic and beloved character of the franchise lol)

crying for me and my fellow rogues btw. perhaps the most undefined class of all time (together with hunter and, to some extend, warrior)

Paladins have been centerstage for the endings of Vanilla BC Wrath and Legion arguably have the most Iconic Artifact weapon, have had the most number of factions based around the class ( Silverhand,Argent Dawn/Crusade, Scarlet Crusade/Blood knights, Sunwalkers and Vindicators). Also the fact that the power of the Light comes from your conviction means you're not limited to certain stereotypes with Paladin characters

The real question is which class smells the best? We should throw a tier list together.

Shamans, definitely. Those smelly Taurens, Pandas or KTs could really use taking a shower some Healing Rain

OT, some classes are really underdeveloped from a lore PoV (hunter, rogue, warrior, even monk to an extent) while others take the lion's share of screen time: paladins during all of early WoW (and in Legion ofc), priests (especially shadow), and there has been a lot of love as of late for mages, with Dadgar, Thalyssra, Elisande, Aszhara - and of course, Jaina.
