1st time trying to Build

I know that Nvidia released their new cards, and AMD just released their new CPUs and their new line of graphics cards are going to be announced on 10/28.
But I figured i'd ask now since Prime Day is coming soon, maybe I can find a few good deals on some of the parts. I am not a loyalist to either brand. But I keep reading that AMD/Radeons are comparable and more budget friendly.


Budget:
$1500-$1750 (USD) - Looking for the best value.

Resolution:
1080p with good refresh rate. (Is 1440p good/needed for WoW? Would I even notice the difference? ) current monitor is 1680x1050 but looking to upgrade anyway due to damage to the screen.

System Purpose (gaming, workstation, HTPC, etc):
Mostly gaming/entertainment. However I'd use it for remoting into my work PC. My workload consists of working with documents mostly. However, recently I have also started doing video editing/creation for work. Short training videos 2-4mins long.

If a gaming system, what games and settings are desired?
World of Warcraft (Main game), Final Fantasy 14, Baldur's Gate 3. Also thinking about picking up the Witcher 3 and maybe Horizon Zero Dawn. Id love to run them on max settings. I understand that in raids performance my go down.

Any other intensive software or special things you do (Frequent video encoding, 3D modeling, etc)
Camtasia Video editing software used for creating 2-4min long video clips (work)

Do you plan to overclock?
Probably not. Wouldn't even know where to begin with that. Is it needed?

Do you need an OS?
If the SSD is good enough then no, already have Windows 10 on it.

Do you need peripherals (e.g. monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc)?
Need a new monitor. Probably 2 unless one of the below ones is safe to use with a newer monitor.

I'd like to be able to play WoW on my Main screen, and have a couple tabs open (Wowhead/mmo champions + Youtube/Netflix) along with Discord with smooth gameplay.

Open to suggestions. Especially on the Motherboard and Monitors! Not sure if I need a CPU Cooler. Should I pick up a regular Harddrive as well?

1) You have to go to the retail store and check out 1440p and 4K monitors before doing anything. You need to figure out what resolution/refresh rate/panel size will fit you.
2) The build you posted:
- Nothing wrong with the CPU but if it's $200 it's most likely worth to check out 3600X instead.
- You dont need B550/X570 chipset unless you either need the I/O options or will be spending ~$800 on a GPU within next 3-4 years.
- The only cheap RAM worth choosing right now is green Crucial if you overclock the RAM or Crucial 3600CL16 if you dont (RGB variant if you like it). There's obviously more choice among high price ranges.
- If you're buying an AMD GPU buy Sapphire imo. No other option. I would wait for 3070 stock though.
- That PSU is trash. If you're looking for anything on the budget in the US Seasonic S12III is your only option. Anything decent that's full modular is going to be around $100.
- Monitor choice I dont get. 144Hz is useless for all of those games, I would go for 60/75 Hz 1440p/4K monitor(s) with G-Sync/FreeSync.

Explaining my choices:
CPU: It was only $10 more than a 3600 and it's a bit faster and has a better cooler. The cooler still isn't great though but it'll get the job done, replace with another cooler if you want lower noise.
Mobo: Just overall solid choice at the price. Will handle any Ryzen CPU fine. Has some nice features like 2.5Gbit LAN.
Memory: 3600Mhz CL16 is the sweetspot for Ryzen CPU's. Good memory chips if you at any point want to dabble with RAM overclocking.
Storage: 500GB SSD is very little so I added another 1TB. You can use you current as a Windows drive, doesn't matter much. Do note that you'll have to re-install Windows any way because of a new PC.
Case: Looks good enough for the price, I assume you picked it because you liked it so no point changing that.
PSU: Significantly better. It's not a high-end PSU but it's good enough for any system like this.
Monitor: Possibly best value 1440p 144Hz monitor right now. I disagree with Thunderball about 144Hz being useless for those games. 144Hz is always useful even when just browsing website or scrolling through excel files. You don't need to play just FPS games to benefit from high refresh rates. 4K is nice but 4K high refresh rate monitors are very expensive and I'll take 1440p 144Hz over 4K 60Hz any day even for just office use. 1080p is pointless unless you need like 300+ FPS in some e-sports title.

You current monitors are garbage but may work as side monitors depending on what you need them for. Might be worth spending ~$100 for a new 1080p 60Hz monitor if you find them unusable.

Didn't pick any GPU because it's the worst possible time to buy a GPU now. The $500-$750 left in the budget (minus a bit if you want a new side monitor and cpu cooler) will be enough for an RTX 3070 or whatever the equivalent AMD RX 6000 series card will be when they arrive.

Why does everyone keep saying that??? That's not true since Windows 10 release pretty much. 80% of the time Windows 10 will repair itself and you will be able to use it without any further issue. In most of those 20% that's left you will have to manually remove/reinstall some drivers.

Ok maybe I should've said "should re-install". I don't trust windows repair to actually fix anything, it has never managed to un-fuck a fucked up windows installation for me the few times I've tried. Also all the random crap that bloats a windows install over time.... meh, I'd rather just go clean slate and copy over some select user folders when I build a new PC.

Should if it doesnt work, sure. But it did pretty consistently for me the last 2-3 years.
