Wait until january/february and buy whatever comes out on top. Probably a Ryzen 5 5600XT for gaming or 5800XT for productivity and then a RTX3070 or a 6700XT/6800.

You could buy a new PSU already because you will need a better one. Also HDDs and SSDs are pretty cheap right now.

Would rather changing things within this month

With the new GPU's you will need a whole new PSU, 500 watts is likely not to be enough. Honestly OP, everything is dated in your system. You will need a new motherboard too. Biggest upgrade if you dont wanna change it all is just a new GPU, but 500 watt PSU is not a lot. Are you sure its a 500 watt PSU?

Anyway consider a completely new system or only the GPU. We'll re-use your SSD's/hdd's and maybe ram, but now a days DDR5 on the horizon and ddr4 kits as high as 4500 mhz.

If you wait 2-3 months you can get about 50% more performance for the same price.

I'd still really suggest waiting, at least with the GPU. Nvidia's 3000 series and AMD's 6000 series are looking like they'll perform about so much better.
The 3070 for instance costs 500 dollars MSRP, and matches the 1200 dollar 2080ti.

AMD's 5000 series CPUs are also (claimed) to be ~20% better IPC than their 3000 series.

Buying now means losing out on those performance gains.

With this system, I would wait a year. Comparing it to current systems, there wont be as much difference... in games, 10fps is not worth the money.

IF you must upgrade, then GPU.

I could upgrade other stuff and wait until the newer GPUs are out then upgrade that.
