What positive things have happened in your life in 2020?

I got an Easter egg at work.

Nothing much changed other than a 2 month lockdown and then we went pretty much back to normal here with next to no covid-19 cases. Gotta love my Atlantic bubble.

Shit will get better friend, a lot of people are not having a time this year, I almost had a mental breakdown but I somehow dodged it.

I got promoted early in March only to see it put on halt. It is fine though, a few people got fired and several positions got merged.

In August I decided to focus on gaining muscle mass as I wanted to get stronger for my sport. I weighted 54kg, currently I am 63kg and final goal is 70kg. Alongside that I discovered that learning Olympic Weightlifting is actually fun - still new to it.

EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot... I finally learned how to scream - the vocal technique. I even think about joining a band when all of this ends.

I started dieting and exercising and lost quite a lot of weight.
Never been more confident in my body before in my entire life.

The list of positive things starts and ends there pretty much.
My mental health went down the drain, the little bit of what people would call a social life is pretty much dead now and i'm probably gonna fail this current school year.

    Dear 2020,

    Fuck you.

    sincerely,
    Me

    Lost weight.
Broke my personal jogging record by running 6 miles in 69 minutes. (Old record was 72)
Pretty much survived the panic of of the year as much an elegant equanimity and indifference that I can muster.

    New Job
    Trump got fired

Well I guess that's about it, not exactly a year that'll stand out for great experiences.

Nah surely you have some interest/passion that lights a fire in your belly. I think it's impossible not to have one.

No positive things for me in 2020.

Colleagues died at my department. (no corona)
Waiting for my house to be build, but with corona this has a long delay.
Because of the delay my finacial situation becomes worse by the month.
Had no social interaction with my friends now for over 3 months.
Gained lots of weight because my gym is closed and sleep bad with headache.
And i saw that all bills and taxes increase in 2021 what makes my situation even worse.

2021 better improve otherwise i guess i will soon get a burnout.

My wife has become more adorable. At least to me. She has to carry a stick to keep me away now. All kidding aside, we have become closer. But then our kids are independent and we have no financial issues. So we don't have anything to fight about. Well, we did argue about what kind of blocks we should use in the backyard. That was pretty fierce.

I got one year closer to death. That's about as positive a spin as I can put on it.

    Two things:

    1. Got the full time job I've been wanting since around 2018
    2. Became a Godfather to my brother's newborn son.

Both things happened in October. So, even though 2020 is still a shit year there was some good that came out of it. Too bad they happened under the most shitty of situations.
    - "If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black" - Jo Bodin, BLM supporter
    - "I got hairy legs that turn blonde in the sun. The kids used to come up and reach in the pool & rub my leg down so it was straight & watch the hair come back up again. So I learned about roaches, I learned about kids jumping on my lap, and I love kids jumping on my lap...” - Pedo Joe

lost some weight but i put in on during lockdown so about even.

overall a poor year as others have said, i suppose an upside is that i have decided to see friends and family more after its over, i saw them quite opften, i am mainly meaning the outliers
