i was 1.1k rio 3 days after m+ opens i don't know what are you checking but iam 5/10m now playing in 2raids/week guild. no single item from mythic raid. half of my gear is from pvp. so i look like every single other mythic raider these days. i hate every single minute of these 2 evenings that i was forced to pvp. but these 2 evenings give me x20 loot that i can get other ways...
I feel this pain of feeling forced into PVP
I play a Havoc Demon Hunter with a Tanking off spec
Both of these specs highly value Haste and Versatility. However in PVE a good chunk of pieces with these stats are rare. You know where its not rare? PVP Arenas. Ulduar was a godsend because I got a ton of Haste / Vers gear from there and im now competitive with our top DPS in the raid. However If I wish to keep my mythic spot, I gotta grind out rating and right now alot of shit is broken in Arenas. There is legit a trick Mages do with Pyroflasm that allows them to have it right away in Arenas and instantly delete you. Like you can't even counter it, its INSTANT CAST 1 SHOT. Not to mention Sub Rogues having a MACRO that instantly kills you unless you run 30+% versatility and Druids able to get a 40k Full Moon off the initial cast of convoke. Arena's are not fun right now, but unless I want to get sat for not optimizing my stats properly, I have to push through and pray I can get higher rankings as we move forward into mythic.
And for those who tell me to just go to mythic + - There are not that many pieces with Haste Versatility on them in Mythic + and what slots I can get from there will drop in Mythic Raid. Aside from the Trinket off Doctor Ickus, I have 0 drops from Mythic + that are BIS for me.
I hope that Next raid tier is better, or they change the stat weights for Demon Hunter or Else I might reroll to Balance Druid or Windwalker Monk.
this guy almost has a 229 ilvl https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/ch...rren-mill/Jmbo
The top page of the world is well over or deep into 227 ilvl, and that's just randoms, so most people in the game that care would be starting to even replace pvp gear if they had 226 pieces by this week
I get having to pvp isnt fun for carebears - hell I consider myself a carebear now that I'm so old IRL - but deep down - if you want the best gear through and through - you have to pvp and pve. Depending on the situation, you will need multiple types of gear to push farther into a boss fight or m+ or of course against real players.
If you're like me, smoking j shell all day being a scrubknight: You should all easily be able to get 1800 and one 14 in a week for the 226 and 220 upgraded conquest (through honor) until its all upgraded via the vault to 226 full in a couple more months
Tbh i haven't even bothered... but i know its worth it. it sucks when you put a lot of energy into m+ and you just end up with basically normal gear..
I love how PvE players were all smug in BfA saying "PvP is only a mini game" as a response to PvPers being up in arms about the state of PvP and now PvE players are crying a river because apparently PvP is NOT a minigame and actually a full endgame system designed to be used to gear up? The shock!!!
I have forgotten the number of times that I was "forced" to PvE as a PvP'er, it has been mostly unfair for people that PvP for the past few years. Blizzard (Ion) has stated many times that it is intended, they want you to do a bit of everything and that is the point of the game. I disagree, but whatever.
Most people complaining in here have almost no idea how the gearing works in PvP. Not only that but people like to throw around how this rating or that rating is easy to get and so therefore the loot is free. There is a reason they chose the current rating break points for the item levels and that's because for the vast majority of players even getting 1800 is a challenge, let alone 2100 or higher. PvP gear has one of the worst stats for almost every class (Obv there are a few this doesn't apply to) making the item level mostly irrelevant as you'll perform better with lower item level gear with your best stats.
There is no way people are being "Forced" into PvP for the loot which is sub optimal for most classes/specs at best. Some tanks are the exception but even then I can't believe you'd be complaining about an extra source of gear especially if it's "So easy" or "Welfare" as many in here have said. But even for tanks there's an even smaller chance at the level of content you're most likely doing that you feel forced.

wow you are so wrong. a 207 ring has 182 stats, a 213 ring has 194 stats an approximate 5% increase in stats.
now consider this across all items
now consider the extra intellect gained from intellect buff.
now consider the extra armor and hp which stops you from dieing
now consider this across all 5 players in the party.
now consider that the higher the ilvl the bigger the difference so the poster comparing 210-216 would have been more.
Tell me more about how +6 ilvls will only add 0.01% dps. please do.
Just do RBGs. It’s basically PVE content compared to Arena and takes like 20 wins to hit Rival.
It should be really trivial for skilled heroic/mythic raiders to hit 1800 rating. They are the best of the best after all, not just NEETs with too much time on their hands and an overinflated sense of their own skill as some cynics like to insinuate.
I think this logic is mostly bullshit to be blunt. Nobody is forced to do shit its a fucking game ffs. Having said that I would absolutely want them to Nerf pvp gearing. First I think they're dumb enough to do it but second I want to see them stand behind whatever vision they have for the game instead of covering their asses y having this one outlet If loot should matter it should matter for pvp as well.
