Assuming the leak is real and that the pre patch arrives on October 25th, we're probably going to get an announcement on Mon/Tues to give players the usual 2 weeks notice.

generally, i have the exact same opinion as you.
but in reality, it drives me away from the game. here is why:
i am a pug player since years. my weekly shedule is difficult and there is low chance i will ever again return to organized raiding or guild. so, let’s take this as a given fact. when i play wow, i play pugs.
and there is where the problem shows up. the SOLE reason i played second half BfA and all of SL only M+ (and nearly no raiding at all) is the fact: i can do something, without wasting my time. when you join heroic pug raids, for every wipe oy boss, you have to wait 20mins to fill up grp with ppls again (cause every try 1-5 ppls leave). at some times you need 3 days, just to clear 1 HC raid. you wait 80% of the time and play 20% of the time. pug raiding, designed as it is, is such a giant waste of time. additionally i can not even do quests, while grp is formed. because of that idiotic you-are-in-a-raid 2005 rule.
in m+, in contrast, i can do quests while grp is formed. i am not standing in Oribos and waiting. and even if the grp sucks, or you have a leaver, you at least played the game until that point. i was not just standing around in the dungeon, for 20 mins, again and again. also, when the grp breaks or the dungeon is over, i can find another grp and be ready to play the game in a dungeon again, in like 5 minutes. not another 20 mins, like when waiting for the next raid.
in short: playing pug raids, in contrast to m+, is soooo much more of wasting time without actually playing the game. that’s the reason why i prefer m+, (as long as there is no desserteur debuff in pug raids, or something else that counters raid hopping). its just way more „playing the game“ and way less „wasting your time and standing around“.
and here i see the problem with the upcoming changes: it directs m+ more into some „get grp, try, declare it as not good enough at 10% of dungeon, leave, repeat“ direction. it is still way better than pug raiding, but it will move it more into a „quickshot try and repeat“ direction imo.
summary: the changes counters directly, what made pug m+ attractive (or way more attractive than pug raiding) to me and others. and therefore i don’t like it. even when i have in general the same opinion as quoted poster.

Can we get back to lore? Please? Yo. Every action has its equal, opposite reaction. The expansion before shat the bed, I loved Sylvanas, but she’s in traction. Poor Anduin Wrynn, he is missing in action. So now we’re left with, Tyrande Whisperwind, with her own faction.
this is the simple truth.
and while there will be always a spec on top (even doing 0.005% more dps) and a spec on the bottom (even when doing 0.005% les dps), balance is important, when it comes down to a specific overall picture.
an example: i play on 2,5-2,8k rating in m+ pugs at the moment. survival hunters and outlaw rogues do around 5% more dps in m+ these days than everyone else. coincidentally (for completely different reasons, BfA style stuff) i play hunter and rogue this xpac. and i had zero problems getting into every m+ dungeon as BM hunter (the worst hunter spec at the moment). also i have zero problems to get into every dungeon as Sub Rogue at the moment.
in contrast, when you played a non-meta spec in the past, that had 10% less dps, no one takes you into account. ferals, shadow priests, rets. all of them have/had fukin hard times in pug m+ playing.
why i showed that 2 examples: i wanna show that the amount of (missing) balance matters. wow ppls are not that stupid that they are going „you are not meta, we dont want you“, when meta does 2-3% more dps. but they are also realizing, when a spec does 10% less than average, is not designed for some specific game niche, or not brings anything to the table, they take the other specs.
summary: balance don’t matter to a 1-2% degree. and balance don’t matter for „everyone is just playing meta cause of 1-2% and all other specs suck“. but balance DOES matter, when specs falling 10% behind, are not designed for a specific game niche at all, or bring nothing to the table. so yes, balance matters (to a specific degree)!

I think there are solutions to this, they just require a lot more effort from Blizzard.
First, OpenRaid should have been part of the game UI. PuGing a raid is not in any way elegant and while someone can on the fly spend 30-40 minutes in an activity, many people need to schedule for 3-4 hours. Wasting far more than that to build the raid is horrible. Having a tool to schedule a raid ahead of time to a time that suits you so that when the time comes you can have the group ready within 10-15 minutes would get so many more people involved.
Second, raid design should help make raids easier to experience in smaller and distinct chunks. LFR does this already for the raids; you can pick a specific part with specific bosses, there is usually a capstone in rewards at the end (LFR wing endbosses corresponding to tier bosses). This should be something easier to schedule and communicate for PuG leaders and it seems the reward system in DF is built for that; e.g. less running Castle Nathria, more running Leeching Vaults.
Third and alternatively, design more and smaller raids. Instead of one raid with 10-12 bosses, two raids with 4-6 bosses (and a third with 1-2). Give us similar number of encounters but more environments. Less bosses who are filler in the story. Yes, probably would mean more art reuse but as long as each tier has some new art, the World art already is strong enough to carry themes and raids.
I know that because doesn't have a working work orders system but it seems like the gear economy will go like this
If you have the mats but not the profession you'll use a work order and pay less than AH prices
If you don't have mats just gold then you'll use the AH
If you want high grade BoP gear you'll go work orders likely to your buddy
The recrafting option also allows crafters to keep the gear relevant like if the raider just wanted a mythic sword they don't care it's quality 1 and later recraft it at a slightly higher cost

Mid day for me which is perfect
My meal is already planned
I noticed a lot of this in the Ohn'ahran Plains quests, especially in and around the Maruuk hub in the rough center of the zone. So far I've encountered very little of it in the Azure Span, though; so perhaps they've fixed a majority of the scripting issues regarding spoken dialogue. I'd have to go back through Ohn'ahran Plains to check. I do report them when I encounter them, though.
"We're more of the love, blood, and rhetoric school. Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see." ― Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
This is one of my major gripes with WoW's in-game VO. I wonder if it is because they don't have the voice-overs implemented when they actually make the conversations or because the durations differ per localized conversation (or a combination of both). Seems to be a hard problem for them that they've been having forever.
Remind me to stay in a thread like this to not lose my sanity over this....damn game.
Edit: I spel gud.

Warrior-Magi
Ive been looking at most dps classes and how they play and I have to say that I'm getting more and more hyped for DF simply because it looks more like you could play anything and it would work out well. Many specs flow well. (I havent looked at ret though)
But unholy, frost dk, ww monk, arcane mage, fire mage, enhance sham looks fun to play. Its so hars to figure out what to main now Thats such a good thing for this game. And I still havent looked at all specs yet.
That's why they had to nerf the disc priest artifact intro
Same reason they gave lfr determination stacks and started removing mechanics
They can't make content designed to be cleared by everyone have a chance of failure and the difficult content of the past like mage tower was complained about because it was too hard even after you could outgeae it
It's just something blizz can't win at
