Typically the expansion teaser always undercuts the last patch because it typically comes out BEFORE news of the last patch.

Wasn’t the case in MoP, WoD, Legion and BfA. All of their final patches were either announced or live before they revealed the upcoming expansion.

The Shadowlands Sylvanas vs Bolvar cinematic teaser was before we had any news about 8.3 as well. Blizzcon was situated after the Sylvanas vs Saurfang cinematic mini-patch

It'll prolly be like how 9.1 was hyped, MAYBE a lil more. Seems like they're hyping up 9.2 to be something big.

Sucks, i like that anticipation before the actual reveal. Or making fun of whatever poor soul they put on stage.
