Banking Anima for Covenant Change

So I'm about to swap covenants next week, but I'm not sure how to handle all the anima items in my bags. Would it be smart to keep them and save them for the new covenant, or does the anima amount "carry over" as long as I don't spend it on any upgrades? I know the souls do, but I'm not sure about the anima.

Does anyone have a clue about this from beta?

Bumping this because I was just told that all the anima in your bags disappears during covenant swap. Anyone know if this is true?
