Ancient Naaru:
"This is incorrect. We must not ferry souls who bear ties to other forces. Correct. Souls with sufficiently strong ties to other cosmic forces must be allowed to return."
This confirms my brilliant hypothesis that the Void elves would not go to the Shadowlands upon death, but to the mysterious realm of the Void. After all, the Void elves have been changed inextricably by the Void, as their souls and flesh are now tied to it at a biological level. Their ties with the Void would certainly be strong enough to make them avoid the Shadowlands, where the unwashed inferior masses would go. Truly balanced, as it should be.
The Void. A force of infinite hunger. Its whispers have broken the will of dragons... and lured even the titans' own children into madness. Sages and scholars fear the Void. But we understand a truth they do not. That the Void is a power to be harnessed... to be bent by a will strong enough to command it. The Void has shaped us... changed us. But you will become its master. Wield the shadows as a weapon to save our world... and defend the Alliance!
Garrosh had a higher chance of going to the void considering he literally fused with an Old God's essence and still ended up in the Shadowlands. I doubt a bunch of elves that tried to steal and tame the power of the void only for it to cock up and cause skin pigmentation issues, potential insanity and haunting by whispers would get special treatment.
I would rather go in the Maw to the Jailer than to the Void to the Void Lords, considering that even Sargeras was terrified of their plans. So these are not mortal unwashed inferior masses doomed to Shadowlands, these are void elves, stupid idiots who doomed themselves to endless suffering about which the inhabitants of the Maw cannot even think, and at the same time it does not matter at all whether the elf was a hero or a villain. My condolences.

New day, new update:
• Distraught Child (male draenei):
"I’m just a kid! I got sick and it just got worse and worse. Let me go back to my mommy!"
Watcher Jacintha: "I understand why you chose to return the child, but unfortunately we can’t allow every child to return to life. They may not have much anima built up yet, but all children being immune to death causes much bigger problems."
"You are correct. Sometimes we nudge children back to life so they can accumulate more anima, but unfortunately even children cannot be immune to death."

Going back to the topic, I'm not 100% sure about the void elves, but I definitely saw lightforged draenei in Bastion, yeap.
The most difficult thing to do is accept that there is nothing wrong with things you don't like and accept that people can like things you don't.
Okay, I guess this is basically Sylvanas' excuse, apart from avoiding hell herself.
I would want to break this seemlingly arbritary judgement system as well after reading this.
I don't. I speak of us. Humans. Maybe not explained enough but doesn't change my point.
Humans, dwarves, gnomes are nor arcane beings. And we have been directly created by them. MADE by them. Then corrupted by the old gods.
Matid are aqir. They are created by the old gods, from the old gods. But that does not mean they are void creatures exactly like it does not mean we are arcane creatures.
And to make sure. By we i mean humans in the wow universe.
I agree, it's been very fun to speculate and discuss SL lore. This whole anima system has been shady to me, I find souls being batteries and a trading good fundamentally disturbing. It's basically sucking out someone's blood and using it for your ends. None of the worlds in WoW that we know of use similar mechanic, they just exist pretty much unconditionally, they don't need fuel just to continue to exist.
It's basically the Matrix, but they need Anima instead of Bioelectricity. It's quite disturbing to me, and I'm glad Bwonsamdi's little afterlife realm isn't like this. Ardenweald is (to me at least) the least hellish zone, and even then you have a chance of getting snuffted out of existence if Anima is suddenly needed

I don't play WoW anymore smh.
If that were true, Outland wouldn't be dying a slow death from the fel energies consuming it. Fel magic is fueled by life and souls.
I mean, some worlds straight up have souls of their own in WoW. Azeroth's world-soul nearly got killed by Sargeras who likewise used to be a planet.
Don't forget that Life itself is a "cosmic force" and that mortals sustain themselves by eating other forms of life. Sure, it doesn't extend to the geography under normal circumstances, but even the inanimate can be given life.
Pretty much all forms of existence in WoW, from living mortals to elementals to demons to the immortal souls in the Shadowlands, have a process of breaking down and returning to the "cycle" when they die within their own realm. If they die outside of their realm they are returned to their realm.
Shadowlands was a mistake
This world don't give us nothing. It be our lot to suffer... and our duty to fight back.
