Apparently Engel has already testified behind closed doors, I don't know if he was asked about the attack/assault, but he has testified.

"This is a search warrant, please step outside."
"can I call my lawyer."
"Yes please step outside this is a search warrant. Is your wife home?"
"No she's not home. Can I put on some pants?"
"It's a search warrant please step outside."
"Can I at least go in my garage?"

So yea Cheney. Well, this is where the left who always shouted from the mountain tops about Cheney get a little boost here.

First the really BIG problem is Cheney of course running defense for Ginni Thomas. Why? Well, she is a conservative Republican and never get this wrong, the anti-Trumpers LOVE the Supreme Court Justices and likely give credit to Trump, even tho the Federalists picked them. So going after Ginni and going down the road on Thomas might lead, very small, to a removing of a justice. To me Ginni Thomas is so egregious and honestly there is silence on this sometimes where this may just pass.

Second, of her protecting Republicans. Yea another problem of anti-Trumpers who I give all the credit for at least standing up to Trump, but they still love Team Red. They won't leave team Red so by proxy they are supporting Trump and his minions by being in the party. Her not going after say Josh Hawley is just her protecting good ole team Red. Which we know is just as dangerous with our fragile 2 party system and seems one party is into fascism.

And honestly, it's not remotely surprising that she'd want to protect Clarence and Ginni. She's still a Republican at the end of the day, and we know that the conservative efforts to pack the courts with activist judges has support from all wings of the Republican party.

Plus, as it sorta notes, Cheney needs some kind current conservative/Republican credentials to fight against the attacks from her right.
