Question Which expansion encouraged you to make the most alts?

Hello every everyone. Between all the doom and gloom I figured we should do something constructive. Admittedly it is still related to the delay somewhat, but only indirectly.

I'm talking about alts. Alts are important when it comes to the longevity of content. The more characters you level to the cap, the longer you are occupied. Simple. And one way or another each expansion encouraged you to have more than one characters. Multiple classes, races, leveling paths, order hall campaigns, war campaigns, covenants...etc. And catch up mechanics if there were any.

So what I want to know is which expansion (vanilla included) encouraged you the most to level a fresh alt to the cap, and how many alts did you level?

Legion, due to Artifact weapons. I just loved the system. I had 11 max level characters in Legion, more than in any expansion before.

I hated legion for bringing in AP but I would be lying if it I said it didn't have me level each class to get every mage tower skin.

WoD, for sure. It's where I build my army of alts, for transmog hunting and the garrison gold.

WoD. It was the easiest to gear alts and make a decent amount of gold while doing it too.

WoD, for passive gold from garrisons and due to lack of content to do.

The one that's the most enjoyable to play.

Meta answer, but i've never been a fan of mechanics that try to get you to play different characters, unless the game is inheritely fun to play.

That's why i didn't enjoy to play multiple characters in Legion, when you have something like AP or legendaries, then having multiple campaigns for each class sure as shit won't salvage it.

Alt "friendliness" is my opinion a huge curveball as far as feedback is concerned, it quite often implies that certain elements are terrible and players can only stomach them once - making things "accountwide" should never be the modus operandi, the content should be that fun that you want to do it multiple times, making things accountwide should be a last resort.

I play multiple characters when i enjoy the game, not when it's "the most alt friendly".

WOD becouse was so fast and eficient to farm gold with garrisons in alts

  16. #16
WoD. Questing was awesome and fast. Most classes were still enjoyable. Multiple garrisons for gold farming was great.

WoD due to how stupidly fast it was to level an alt.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..

WoD, because the gold was too good to pass up, it even got me leveling Alliance alts.

Fair enough. But it is still useful to know when people fealt like making the most alts. When you are done with all the leveling you wanted to do, that is when the consumption of endgame content starts and the counter begins till the next content update.
