    Windows 10 ARM64 Support Now Available, Raid Testing Schedule - May 13th & 14th

Windows 10 ARM64 Support Now Available

This makes it possible to run WoW on Windows 10 ARM64 devices, which it previously could not, and this is now testable in new build of the Chains of Domination PTR.

While our internal testing has been successful, we’re looking for any unexpected issues that might be out there, so please test the latest Chains of Domination PTR build on your Windows 10 ARM64 devices and let us know if you run into any issues here in this forum thread. In particular, we expect the performance of the game to be relative to the specifications of the device, so please feel free to tell us about your specs and how WoW performs for you.

    Thank you very much.

    Raid Testing Schedule - May 13th & 14th

    13:00 PDT (16:00 EDT, 22:00 CEST)

The Nine - Heroic Sanctum of Domination
    14:00 PDT (17:00 EDT, 23:00 CEST)

    Friday, May 14th

Eye of the Jailer – Mythic Sanctum of Domination

The Tarragrue- Mythic Sanctum of Domination
    14:00 PDT (17:00 EDT, 23:00 CEST)

As always, this testing schedule is very fluid and subject to the realities of a test environment. We might have to change the time of a testing session, change the bosses being tested, or cancel a test entirely, due to bugs, server hardware issues, etc. Keep an eye on this forum for the latest information, and thank you in advance for testing and providing feedback.

Q: How do I get into the raid zone?
A: In Oribos, Dalaran, Orgrimmar, or Stormwind, you may speak to Nexus-Lord Donjon Rade IV in order to teleport into the raid zone while it is open for testing. (The option to teleport into a zone will not be available when the zone is not open for testing.)

Q: What character should I use to test the raid?
A: Whichever you prefer. We will be scaling players’ effective level to 60 for raid testing, and their item level to an appropriate threshold for the encounter(s) being tested.

Q: How long does testing last?
A: The primary purpose of testing is to give us the information we need to balance the encounters, evaluate how mechanics are playing out in practice, and identify bugs. Once we’re satisfied that we’ve received that information for a given boss, we’ll be shutting down testing. Usually this takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, but there are no guarantees.

We appreciate you taking the time to test our content and look forward to reading your feedback.

Wow on WoW supporting ARM64... is that a first? There's a limited number of ARM(32) games as it is, but native ARM64 is incredible.

Blizzard really does have a wide breadth of support for operating systems!

WoW on the M1 and now ARM64 is awesome! I wonder if we could actually see WoW on tablet hardware like the iPad or even stuff like the Microsoft Duo.
I remember when the razer switchblade concept came out with wow running on it. I always wanted it but it never became a thing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiQ0AnlfBu4 Maybe in a couple years we will see WoW on mobile.

Now if only there was an official native client. How does it work nowadays? I remember back in Wrath that there was this flag you could set on the executable to run the game with OpenGL through wine. Is that still the way to go?

Nowadays you just install Lutris, download the bnet client script inside Lutris and just play. But yes it is still with wine. It works perfect, never had any problems playing WoW on Linux. Gamin on Linux in general got so much better, Cyberpunk was playable on release day, Resident Evil Village took 2 days or so.

The only games which don't work are games with "Kernel-Level" Anti-cheat.

This is about Processor that are not based on the x86 Design like Intel and AMD, but instead of Processors that are based on the ARM-Design; most Smartphones have a chip with an ARM-Design, but many Netbooks nowadays too; simply because ARM right now have a processor design that requires less energy on mobile devices because of their bigLittle design. (small energy efficient cores and big cores for heavy workload). Something that might change with the new upcoming Intel-Processors that also have such a design.

ARM Processors cannot run x86 programs natively, so they either need a port or a virtual machine.
