What a game. Right result I think, Belgium just lack depth.
Feel bad for Spinazzola, he was outstanding.

Belgium really should have converted those 2 horribly missed chances. Either way, was an enjoyable game
Watching Lukaku miss two sitters gave me flashbacks to his time at United.
Ex-Mod. Technically retired, they just won't let me quit.
Deserved for Italy. But their last 20 minutes were disgusting, really bad sportsmanship.
Totally deserved by the Italians. Just a better team overall. The Belgians weren't able to break them down and that's what happens if you play a proper team. Not everyone is like France, throwing away a 2 goals lead.
Italy losing Spinnazzola for the rest of the tournament is huge though.

Immobile lay there acting injured until Italy scored, and was miraculously healed all of a sudden. Watch the video WarbringerPT posted. Are you seriously defending that kind of behavior?
Also no where did I defend Belgium getting a penalty, it was very light at the most. From one angle it looked like Doku tripped over his own feet, from another angle it looked like he was pushed. I'm not the referee or VAR though.

If getting pushed causes that sort of injuring (or rather, acting) then deary me he must be made of glass

I agree the booing was disgusting.
Belgium will look back at the last 10 years and wonder how they never won anything, such an amazing group of players, and only about 1/2 of them will be at the world cup.
Italy look set to be the new force in world football.
Portugal had a great team from 2000 to 2014 and won nothing as well, you need to consistently get in finals and semi-finals and wait for the stars to align, it's tough for some players who deserve it but win nothing for their NT.
Italy will have something to say at the WC next year for sure.
He was actually pushed and kicked, there was contact, it was a legit call for a penalty in the first place. Sure, it's kinda sad he lay there until they scored, but it's drawing attention to what he felt was a foul - and it may well have been given by VAR had they not scored so quickly.
Then, later on, commentators are moaning about an Italian player lying on the floor after a challenge, he gets up with a black eye. I don't condone the rolling around, but there's also plenty of heavy contact that goes unpunished too.

England between 86 and 2006 should have won something, they didn't. Part of it is luck that there isn't just someone better out there at the same time.
