Tryande's new model finally looking like a star elf

    CUSTOMISATION PLEASE BLIZZARD

THANK YOU, I LOVE THIS!! I WANT THIS ON MY NIGHT ELF AND I WANT MORE EVIDNECE OF STARS, AND THE ARCANE HERITAGE SHOWING UP. We got some nature customisation in 9.0, but we were still missing star symbolism and that glowing white arcane power that comes from Elune and the Well of Eternity connection.

This should be shown just as much as nature vines and leaves.. don't you think guys?

Reminds me of the star elves in Dragon Prince.. except night elves, kaldorei are the original star elves, and should be the most prominent identifier for them as it is the one thing that is prevalent across board, from priests, to druids, to the arcane civilization and highborne/moonguard types - it is always there regardless of how different their orders are... I like the star symbolism, it's the coolest and most unique thing of the night elf fantasy. kaldorei are children of the stars, and I don't understand why nature is more prominent in their visualisation than the stars. nature elves, magical sorcerer elves are common as FUCK! and i get that combining this is unique to an extent, but you also need unique symbolism, and the stars creates a form that transcends both and has never been a focus in popular fantasy elves.. this is where they need to focus the night elves most.. let the rest be secondary. Elune and the stars should be dominant in both druidic and arcane mage Highborne societies.

Elune, the stars, inextricably linked to night elves arcane and nature - and all their 3 main classes - mage, druid, priest - use this.

    Here it is:

Tyrande's model for the first time has night elves visibly representing and showing the stars. I wish we had more of this sooner. To me the name tells the most, above nature, above arcane, inextricably linked with Elune, and connecting all three veins of the night elves is the stars. Their energy is arcane, they crown nature and they a the lights of the goddess that adorn the night sky.

The Nightborne in Suramar were so relieved to be able to look at the stars once more, these night elves were like "we see the stars once more". I really do hope they give night elves similar star customisation features to represent this core part of their identity, it is one that is actually fully suitable for priests, mages and druids. And i think should be an alternative to the vines option.

    Here are more

You know, with Nightborne around, I think Nightborne should focus on the night more, night elves on the stars and moon - th is can be another way to distinguish them.. Nightborne shift to night and darkness reverence, while night elves are all about the stars.

I was already expecting that this would make you happy.

She's rerolling Horde. That looks awfuly Nightborne themed.

She is showing the star and moon magical arcane type tattoos that would have been an option in the tattoo customisation for night elves. I love the purple void representation for the void.

Would like to see more of this.

From a more purple tone, she now has a portion that looks Human by comparison.

Kinda weird. Was the intent for the Night Warrior aspect to look so... Human?

Nice I hope it carries over to the Night Warrior customization option. The blueberry eyes were kind of meh on their own but this looks dope.

    looks very nice indeed
makes it all the more of a shame that said Night Warrior story may be shafted in this same patch as well X_X

Horde? this has nothing to do with horde or alliance, it's a pure Night elf thing. Nightborne relate to it because of their night elf basis, but it's night elf at the core

You either are very horde centric and don't know much about night elves or don't understand Nightborne night elf connection if you can only relate to it for the Nightborne and not the night elves. Nightborne presented in 7.0/1/2 are 100% night elven civilization themed - full of moon and star symbols, night elf city type and arcane magical obsession (yes that comes from the night elves too and first - many people aren't aware (but because they saw it in the blood elf story they associate it with blood elves). you associate that with Nightborne, but you have to realise it is night elven. Nightborne are group of kaldorei civilization elves now their own society. The city, it's star and moon symbology, it's statues that's all kaldorei.

The reason they have fake stars and moon is because they are trying to mimic the night sky they so loved, because that is what kaldorei love.

Nightborne are children of the night. Kaldorei are children of the stars. While the symbolism could fit the Nightborne, it is at home with the night elves.

remember, even if you think night elves are children of the forest or children of the trees, or children of the moon, they are children of the stars. It's about high time we start seeing stars dominate their presentation across all their orders and groups.

I don't mind if Nightborne use stars as well, it will help show their kaldorei nature which a few people still don't seem to connect them with.

I mean they get a single clap for visuals but it seems like it's only turning up on a cinematic model for one scene rather than Tyrande's in-game model and considering the Night Warrior arc is wrapped up also in this patch it seems a tad late.

Do you prefer this to the earlier Night warrior model?

I never liked the near human skin tone colours for night elves.. I always felt wow humanised their appearance too much.. only in terms of skin tone options though. much better after the 9.0 customisation updates

You don't htink the in game model will change too ? Usually this is what happens. In game model reflects latest cinematic model.

Oh yes.. I hope so too
@Mace - this is sorta what we hoped for the arcane customisation option for them proposed in the highborne customisation thread last year.. remember?

You do realise Nightborne look like skinny night elves right, given that night elf is the first race of night elf that comes out, shouldn't you compare the sub race to the original rather than the other way round? But being horde i guess everything elven is seen in terms of blood elves for Thalassians and Nightborne for Highborne/ night elves.

Tyrande changes personalities and models like clothes, doesn't she?

Hmm.. doesn't remind me of the nightborne much, or at least not over night elves.. haven't seen anything like that on Nightborne.. or do you feel the moon and star symbology or night effect is more reminiscent of nightborne than night elves?

If so that would be very telling, at least players are seeing how similar the two are.

Looks good, but I think I'd rather see this in CGI form.

Admittedly, she does look like a Nightborne now, with that very dark purple skin tone and some of those tattoos - but they are Elune inspired, not "Mage" inspired.

Legion tyrande in that Ysera movie was the nicest I have ever seen her. Here she has one of the night elf model female faces I'm not to fond of because it looks too girlish.

Well datamining on Wowhead hasn't turned up any new models or textures for Tyrande and the only encrypted model they've found is related to the Jailer. It could turn out this is either a unique skin texture they made for a cinematic in the Ardenweald assault (judging by the environment and Tryande's expression) or perhaps a unique shader they used for this one cinematic. Either way considering Tyrande's two appearances in this patch are in Ardenweald (one during the attack and one where she stops being the Night Warrior) I don't expect we'll see much of it.

Looks cool, she going to do anything this patch or just seethe some more?
Tonight for me is a special day. I want to go outside of the house of the girl I like with a gasoline barrel and write her name on the road and set it on fire and tell her to get out too see it (is this illegal)?

They are arcane /void based like the stars - in the night elf themes and symbology. That style is night elf first then nightborne.

Elune's power and symbology in the moon and stars is arcane centric.. this has always been a core part oft he night elves.. they show this time and time again. Well of Eternity, pre-sundering civilization, Highborne, Moonguard, Starfall, star shards, moon lance, starsurge, starfire , lunar strike - druid, priest, mage - STARS = ARCANE, MOON = ARCANE -

arcane, nature are part and parcel in the night elves all the way, whether they're int he middle of the forest, by a magical lake and world tree or in a massive night elven city like Zin'Azshari or Suramar.. it's always been there, it was there in the description in WC3, it was there in the moonwells of WC3 and the well of eternity, it was there throughout the war of the ancient trilogy and all our knowledge on Azshara and the great war of the night elves. It was there in the night elf opening quests, in the final battle of Teldrassil, it was there in the Highborne of Dire Maul, in the mages that came too, it was there in Legion expansion zones of Suramar, Azsuna, Val'Sharah and heavy in the Cathedral of Eternal night.

It touches their priests, their mages and their druids and it always has from day 1. One of their most common poke phrases is Stars Guid You and Hail to the Night.

But you can associate the night and stars more with the Nightborne than the night elves, because Suramar has a better night theme, yet forget that Suramar is night elven

I didn't expect it would come this build, probably in a few down the line.
