Patch 9.1 Hotfix - All Eligible Legendaries Will Receive a Gem Socket

99% sure this was a technical limitation. Also, this nearly affected nobody except the handful of players that still run around in unsocketed r1-r3 legendaries in said slots for some strange reasons.

Recraft? No. Upgrade to get the socket? Yes.

The fix that should have happened: If you get a piece of gear with a domination socket that matches the slot your legendary is in, you can take it to the Runecarver to destroy the domination gear and add the socket to the legendary. That way all legendary base items retain value. Nobody needs to change their legendary. Crafters didn't waste millions ranking up now useless slots (chest,shoulder,legs,etc.) Currently jewelcrafters have all useful legendary base-items (ring/neck) as to where me a leatherworker who ranked up to 4 leather and mail legs, chest and shoulders have rank 4 value-less items. Wasted gold. Wasted time. The problem is domination sockets devaluing legendries in domination slots and making you re-make them in another. Not gems that you had a year to farm that took less than a week to get enough stygia.

No we still have to recraft. Like usual they ignore the real issue of domination sockets making more than half the legendries have no value. If you ranked up shoulders, chest, helm, etc. as a crafter you wasted time and gold still. Hopefully for crafters you are a jewelcrafter because rings/necks as legendries both kept value. 90% of ranked up leatherworking/blacksmithing legendries have no value now. No this gives you a normal socket. Not a domination socket. And only on pieces that ironically are what many legendries have to be replaced to. Jewelcrafters are gonna be great. Other professions are screwed. And 90% of players need to replace 1 if not more of their legendries. Blizzard took a crap on everybody and people are celebrating that they sprayed Febreeze while still covered in crap.

no. it means when you upgrade a pre-existing legendary, it will get a regular gem slot. if it's in a dom slot, you're still SOL.

Im 100% they try to make bad changes, so the customers need to play the game more, so moneymen are happy. And/or they make bad changes like the sockets so they can change it later (like intented from the start) so the playerbase thinks "wow, blizzard listen to us, cool".

The last thing i believe is that they so retarded that they not have seen that this will be get much backlash. They just try to fool us, so bosses are happy.

In all of WoW expansions, boot have never had a gem slot. So why now...

If you played only SL or Vanilla then yeah. But sockets were in boots during TBC-BfA.
