Well, something good may come out of this debacle if it inspires people to rely on more than a single website as a source of income.
Need I remind people that those busybody friends were all Republicans. Somehow the only Dem in the mix is the only one that anyone remembers. I wonder how that happens? I guess bipartisanship is overrated.

It’s possible for two things to be true at the same time. American Fundies are shitty and credit card companies don’t like dealing with all the chargebacks that Only Fans generates.
lol. i bet ebay and amazon have more chargebacks in a few minutes than onlyfans had since they started.
You are telling me that banks had a problem with this relatively small volume web site??
Banks are not even the ones who have to do most of the work on chargebacks. They also still get to keep the transaction fees in most cases
Odd they haven't hit all those companies like concert venues that flooded banks with chargebacks after covid went crazy.....very odd indeed
Buh Byeeeeeeeeeeee !!
Thotpocalypse averted.
And now they aren't. Love it.
Frankly, we need something like this. People need an outlet, both for producing content like this and certainly for viewing content like this. I do love the faux "outrage" from OnlyFan content producers who are outraged because OnlyFans listened to them and reversed their policy.
I mentioned earlier in the thread that what OF did was 101 in how to destroy a successful business that had built a niche. But now they actually figured out a way to even top that by backing off the no live porn decision. Now they've managed to upset both sides. They not only destroyed all trust and goodwill with their content creators (who are probably all looking for a more reliable platform now), but by backing off the decision they've also alienated Wall Street and killed any hopes of going public. What abysmal management.
That's, like... a horrible read of the situation.
The banks caused the issue in the first place by blocking transactions. OnlyFans was pressured into the decision, which I'm sure they didn't want, because they're assuredly able to see the same writing on the wall that all of us are. They were, however, able to use the public backlash to get the banks to come back on board, so they've permanently abandoned the plan that they were going to be forced into.
Any half-way savvy content creator will see that this was all the fault of the banks.

and genius is that genius has its limits."

In the case of MasterCard, the only thing they changed was that every transaction had to be from a verified ID when it came to material of an "adult" nature.
What OnlyFans did was that instead of not wanting to add administrative costs on that end, they just cut their cashcow loose.
A source in tweet. If you look up the actual Standard Pages from MasterCard you can probably find a primary source.
But it was a combination of fault of SESTA and FOSTA which are just badly worded laws and then some banks/payment processors changing wording in their terms of use, and then ontop of it OnlyFans being lazy/pushing adult content out (they never use adult stuff when promoting themselves, just C list celebs).

MasterCard came out saying that they didn't ask for what OF did the same day OF sent out the changed ToS.

They take far more, just saying that maybe some banks/cards were more. But at least one of the two biggest are fine with processing digital adult photo and video content between two parties if both parties are of a legal age to do so and the content itself is legal. The only thing that a service provider has to ensure is verify age.
If that is true, mastercard doesn't care what people spend money on.
So to soley blame the banks/cards is not fully correct, even if there probably is a grain of truth.

Bascially did what all onlyfans creators do by overcharging for "titty pics" and they no show the titty. But she got hammered for it for some reason. So they put a limit on spending/tipping and have to wait 30 days to get paid to counter charge back claims.
Apparently she didnt put in the hard work of being a "real sex worker" and being famous for being a disney star is "unfair"
Yeah.....heaven forbid they actually have to get a real job.
OnlyFans was able to achieve relatively high social acceptability in the public sphere compared to porn. If people view them exactly the same as porn then they could get stigmatized and lose public acceptance.
Hopefully they are successful and they cultivate a good image. If highly attractive people/personalities can make boatloads of money on OnlyFans then more power to 'em. That's another opportunity people now have thanks to modern technology.
