the real question is how to ghosts float? why don't they sink through the ground due to gravity and/or why can't they fly? and if they can float vertically why do they almost never do, even the ones that decide they want to float through walls? (which come to think of it i've never seen in warcraft either.)
it has nothing to do with lore, it's about logic and realism
but no, lore and gameplay aren't segregated
lore are things like the history of the war of the ancients
is there any gameplay element that contradicts the lore of the war of the ancients?
please think before you write

It's perfectly explained in the OP
How this shitshow thread is still open is beyond me.

I mean, do You?
the game is shock full with instances of lore and gameplay segregation, from void elves using light as holy priests, to hundreds of Ashbringers coexisting even if it's canonically one.
Like you cannot criticize "realism" when you seem so unaware of obvious concepts lmao.
You believe ghosts are real...
*chuckles*
...puting the "wow" in WoW.
This thread appears to be going nowhere constructive. Closing this.
"We're more of the love, blood, and rhetoric school. Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see." ― Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
