When I was 18 (2002), I worked in retail for a company called Sports Connection, long gone now. I was serving a woman and her husband was floating around behind her. After the sale, my manager came up to me and asked me if i knew who that was, and I was like "nope".

Turns out I was serving a famous footballer and his wife. Both my managers were sperging out about it, and I couldn't give two fucks really. Yes, he played for the club I supported, but they were just normal people out and about shopping. Even if I did recognise them, I still wouldn't have went all fanboy on them, that's just rude and unproffesional imo.

A few times used to work at a radio station and screened calls, we would get a lot of has beens like professional football players who come on as guest to promote some nonesense. Benchwarmer Bob from the Vikings comes to mind.
