There have been loads of captured russians with nazi tattoos.

  2. #33542
One of the creators of the goddamned Wagner group, Dmitry Utkin, is a tattooed Nazi.

The whole fucking group got its name because Richard Wagner was Hitler's favorite composer.

This is actually pretty funny after the whole "Ukraine has a nazi special forces group, therefore its okay for Russia to destroy their entire country" propoganda.

  5. #33545
Lets not forget that in russia the term nazi has a totally different meaning than everywhere else. In the civilised world it means someone who adheres to the ideology espoused by Hitler. In russia it just means anyone russia doesn't like. If russia had a falling out with China or Cuba they would suddenly be nazis as well.

No idea what russia labels actual nazis - probably just patriotic russians.

Pretty much, it dates back to the Soviet times when they would use the fact the West took Nazi scientists/military people for their own for things like Rocket and Jet science. (Forgetting that the Soviets were just as eager to get Nazi scientists for their own programs)

"Something something whatabout the Azov battalion" tends to be the go to response when that's pointed out
"Law and Order", lots of places have had that, Russia, North Korea, Saddam's Iraq.
Laws can be made to enforce order of cruelty and brutality.
Equality and Justice, that is how you have peace and a society that benefits all.

Slow and steady, by the sounds of it, some news of Himars hitting Russian back lines, but nothing major.

Oleksiy Danilov, the secretary of Ukraine’s security council, told Ukrainian national television on Wednesday that Russian forces had ample time in months of occupation to prepare defences and lay extensive minefields. “The number of mines on the territory that our troops have retaken is utterly mad. On average, there are three, four, five mines per square metre,” he said. Danilov restated assertions by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy that the advances, while slower than hoped, could not be rushed as human lives were at stake. “No one can set deadlines for us, except ourselves... there is no fixed schedule,” he said.
The UK’s Ministry of Defence has said Ukraine’s counteroffensive is being hindered by Ukraine’s plant life. In its daily intelligence briefing it noted “Undergrowth regrowing across the battlefields of southern Ukraine is likely one factor contributing to the generally slow progress of combat in the area. The predominately arable land in the combat zone has now been left fallow for 18 months, with the return of weeds and shrubs accelerating under the warm, damp summer conditions. The extra cover helps camouflage Russian defensive positions and makes defensive mine fields harder to clear.”
I feel like many of us are just waiting for the breakthrough of the defensive lines, and finally see hundreds of tanks and armour pour through. God speed. Slava Ukraine.

Well russans are slowly losing ground and ukraine is probing for weaknesses and waiting for weapons to be able to pass those defenses pretty much. (and wagner bailed)

Thank you both for the response! I do however have to agree that there is a lot more pro Russians on twitter (or X) and a lot less on Ukraine side talking about the war. Despite me following Oxy and others i know see them a lot less and see a lot more Russians so got a bit confused about the war.

Yeah, that's down to Musk. He pretty much made it so those with the more extremist, far-right views that he loves get all of their posts more traction (It also doesn't hurt for him that those who have said views are also more likely to give him money to get the blue checkmark which also pushes up their posts)

Well, pro-russians are generally intellectually bancrupt and spend time coping. Russia runs quite sofisticated online operations including lots of twitter bots (this has been knowin since at least the 2016 election).

Ukraine is busy fighting the war for survival.

the objective is a breakthrough to the sea of Azov and cut Russian ground lines of communication and be in a position to put the Russian forces in Crimea in jeopardy.

Russia have a sound defensive strategy after a stupid offensive.

It doesn't look like its going particularly well for Ukraine.

    Thats about it.

Just because it is going slow doesn't mean it is going poorly. Pootie is throwing his forces into battle in front of all those defensive lines for whatever reason and Ukraine is bleeding them as a result.

In some way it is like the Normandy campaign - it looked bogged down for weeks but them the lines just broke as Germany had run out of reserves to plug the gaps anymore.

they have taken one village forward in 2 months and its much easier to defend that it is attack. The Ukrainians are winning the artillery/counterbattery fight which is good but thats about it. The western trained fresh forces are performing worse than the veteran Ukrainian forces.

Can only really make assessments on what can be seen on the interweb tho.

also lol at russia losing more of its navy to Ukranian naval drones.

Not sure ships are meant to look like this.

That's a large russian naval landing ship in Novorossiysk port in russia after it was hit by a naval drone. Somehow Ukraine sailed the drone at least 700km undetected and hit the ship. Russia claimed all drones were destroyed, which technically is correct - they just neglected it was destroyed ramming the ship.

Looks like a hole beneath the waterline which would require a drydock to repair. Good luck finding one of those on the Black Sea out of range of drones.

The Russian state news agency RIA Novosti says that the port of Novorossiysk "is working in normal mode after the night UAVs attack," citing the Russian Seafarers Union.

"Cargo operations are going on as planned," RIA Novosti reported.

Despite video evidence to the contrary, it added that "the Russian military had repelled an attack by two surface drones in Novorossiysk, with no casualties or damage," quoting regional governor Veniamin Kondratiev.

"Regarding civilian vessels and in the port, everything is calm," the Seafarers Union was quoted as saying.

Oh Russia says that all the time in press releases. They just "forget" to mention that the drones/rockets were destroyed while hitting their targets.

Gotta brainwash those ruskies so they continue to worship Putin.
