Its kind of always been that, since time is such a huge part of MMOs.

I mean vanilla had strat 45/baron runs....
Speed runs have always been part of players who’ve optimized their character and finished the game multiple times. But it was never ingrained into the game itself like it is today. The Torghast timer in Beta was not well received.

No one likes pressure on what should be a relaxing run.

Tanks in LFR running away from group, pulling everything.. then ofc wiping everyone, or dying by themselves
Tanks in dungeons always running way ahead of the group, also pulling everything. Not the usual go go guy, but really, it's like they are on the
run or something, from the group, from themselves, idk. I mean there's a middle ground between a snooze fest and this madness, or isn't there?

Anyone have observed the same? What is going on? It hasn't always been this bad.

    what tanks ?

after waiting for 3 diffrent m18-20+ dungeons for 30-60 mins in 2 days, before giving up, i am not sure who this ominous „tanks“ are…

i dont see them anymore. do they even exist ?

I think it's a case of players thinking they are a lot better than they actually are and just failing. See mage tower threads for proof.
i like that „kick in the nuts“ mage tower statement. oouuuch. nice!

Idiots and bad players have more impact when they play a tank. Haven't been to LFR in ages, but overall my purely anecdotal evidence would say that the concentration of retards hasn't changed much.

The biggest issue here is random dungeons and LFR. Eww

I've seen that as well. Sometimes with tanks who did actually know their limits and used their self-heal abilities. It's still annoying, but as long as they don't nearly die, I don't care all that much.

Other times it was tanks who did not have the gear or skill for it. Running out of heal range while at 30% health and into the next mob group, not listening when I said I needed a mana break, running into boss fights while the group was still killing trash and at low health.

When I play as healer, I'll ask them to slow down once, and if they ignore it, just let them die. A competent tank is able to adjust to their group.

Lately I've had the opposite. Tanks who just don't seem to understand that the run has a timer that you have to beat. Stuff like missing the timer by under a minute in a run with 2 deaths. Sounds from that description like it'd be a super high skill +30 run, in reality it's just the +11 I did this weekend where the tank pulled literally 2 or 3 mobs at once during affixes where you can do absolutely huge pulls. Of course this kind of thing is to be expected when you're doing such low keys at this point in the patch, but I don't see any overpulling, it's all underpulling, every run.

Also sounds like your dps were afk.. You can pull pack by pack and time a 20

When tanking I typically pull quick, based on healers mana/capability and big, based on dps. If you tank and don't, you get shit for it. Try tanking for a while, feel the pressure for yourself.

How is it people are still perplexed that this kind of behavior happens with random people? It happens like this in virtually every game. Go be your best self and find a guild, and run dungeons and raids with them.
