So and so may not be in office anymore, but that doesn't mean an abusive act wasn't committed.
It is a valid counter. The only who say it isn't are thise that have an agenda and do so by projection. His opinion does not automatically = Bliizzard's company opinion.

False, you haven't countered anything. Saying "it happened a long time ago, drop it" is just useless gaslighting.

Sounds about right, probably became really bad during WoD since some of their best devs quit during that xpac so maybe 6-7 years. Everything went to shit since then.

That is utter bollocks, everything about wow is setup to invite new players, "alt friendly" also means noob friendly, the worse expansion in history due to everything being given to you for too easy. the only area that is being neglected is the hardcore community because there isnt enough to do because if blizzard was to set it at the difficulty/requirements of old to get fully geared the new players would cry "i dont have time" IF YOU DONT HAVE TIME THEN TOUGH TITTIES, WHY KILL THE GAME BECAUSE YOU HAVE A JOB / A BABY / A LIFE. there is plenty to do for casuals i mean, dont you guys just like to meet in inns and pet battle? why are you trying to step up into m+ 20s? ah yes.... the portals that blizz placed there to bring you up there so you could feel like you are getting better. while also overpowering certain specs, nerfing content and placing buffs throughout the dungeon. remember when the 10 affix wasnt a buff? jesus.

The game has gone wayyy too casual freindly, thats why it has died such a horrendous death. when wow was popular it wasnt everything handed to you on a plate, it was 1 person on your server had glaives, that lucky sod, that sense of wonder, and dreaming maybe i can be that lucky, if current devs were in charge back when glaives were a thing everyone would be working towards there glaives behind a timegate, after 2months everyone in every city would have glaives on there back......devalueing it, it would be worthless and mean nothing. which is what wow is now, everyone the same, no personality and no soul.

You need elitism in the game, it was what made wow great, the further away from elitism the game goes the worse its going to get in terms of subs.

And still you ask for more to be handed to you.

This doesn't make sense. Ppl who think the game is dogshit can't possibly still be playing this game, therefore should not be part of the community.

If the council meant anything, which it pretty clearly doesn't at this point.
believe me, saying the n-word in europe is considered racist everywhere (except by racists). that is not an excuse ...

I expected so much with the council and finally, like everything with Blizzard, it died faster than light

They just want more validation from other people that their opinions about why the game sucks are shared by other players. I get they banned a lot of those people but honestly, the fact that they had to ban them in the first place tells you everything you need to know about the community.

We do not deserve to be communicated with by the developers. It seems like the game goes through periods of time where developers want to engage with the community, put themselves out there to be engaged with, proceed to be forced to see how absolutely toxic, pessimistic, cynical and contradictory the community is, then inevitably go back to radio silence because any information they do give players is misconstrued then weaponized by idiotic YouTube pundits whose entire career exists because of the "Blizzard bad" rage porn they've catered directly to the most easily incensed parts of the community.

Personally, I would be the happiest person in the world if Blizzard just came out and told the community we're collectively awful and that they will no longer be sharing any information about their video games with us. An official stance of radio silence not because they "hate their players" but because we've shown them repeatedly that we're unfit to be communicated with. I know it won't happen but I really, really dislike what this community has become and at some point it just becomes depressing to see the same cycle play out over and over again.
Yep it's truly an insult to players everywhere if you consider why the community council exists. I don't like the idea of a gated community council because of the implications. I see they're now sending out more "invites" to this prestigious place where only true yes man essay artists may enter. You don't even need to write anything of value, just make sure you fit the mold of a "positive" person within the perimeter of acceptability.

It's disturbing really because we have fully functional forums where ideas are already shared.

It's true that the contradictions and foolish thoughts are everywhere spewing endlessly but a wise person will absorb good ideas and separate them from the bad using their mind not their gated community council camp.

But... they can do what they want it's their company and how they handle communications is up to them. I just find it really distasteful since I'm pro solo queue and I think allowing all people to navigate the same environment is good for people in general, and Blizzard is really dead set on not letting that happen.

It's not dying - they'll keep pushing for its existence to filter out the people that don't deserve to be in their superior presence. Limited communication council may ease the minds of the devs so they'll not have to read anything the "dumb" people have to say - but tbh I'm tired of reading anything Blizzard has to say and mainly skip it.
