this wouldnt solve the problem, as the shards increase your damage by %'s which means unless the gear was INSANELY better, you would still use old raid gear to use the shards.

Not if they reintroduce real Tier Sets. I agree shards suck. But people have spent a lot of time farming those, and especially farming gear with sockets, to make it all useless now is just a huge middle finger to them IMO.

they are reintroducing real teir sets... but teir sets are not % damage increases liek the shards are, so epople would either still run the shards instead of the tier sets, or run the shards and the teir sets.
