    Dragon Isles Plot Concept

    Background

Thousands of years ago, there existed a continent on the other side of Azeroth known as Wyrmrest: the land from which all dragons originated. This landmass was also home to the ancient civilization of Bor'navali (more on the name and the actual identity of the race that lived within Bor'navali in the "Zones" section of my other post), which lived in harmony with the dragons and proto-dragons alike. Eventually, however, the scholars of Bor'navali had mastered the study of arcane magic, becoming so advanced to the point where they were able to transmute arcane magic into a much more potent energy: infinite magic. Its purest form allowed those who successfully wielded it to escape the bounds of time itself.

However, with progress and mastery over the arcane came a lust for power, and the politicians and nobles of Bor'navali eventually attempted to use infinite magic to banish the great and benevolent Galakrond outside the bounds of time, which would allow them to mercilessly slaughter and enslave the rest of the proto-dragons on the continent. When they used this magic on Galakrond, Tyr emerged, intervening to ensure Galakrond wasn't banished. However, Tyr was unable to keep Galakrond from being driven insane by visions induced by this horrific magic, leading to Galakrond's destruction of Bor'navali and his eventual mutations and creation of the not-living.

Tyr went on to recruit five proto-dragons, believing them to contain the intelligence and power needed to take down Galakrond. Following Galakrond's death and the five proto-dragons being imbued with the power of the titans as their Aspects, the five dragonflights would live in peace on the continent of Wyrmrest. Watcher Tyr would be deemed as a savior by the Aspects and their kin and is still considered a legendary figure on Wyrmrest, seeing as he united the five proto-dragons to save the continent from damnation.

When Tyr ultimately fell to Zakajz and Kith'ix thousands of years later, things would change for the dragons of Wyrmrest. Tyr's ancient research facility, Uldaz, became flooded with infinite magic upon his death. The Aspects questioned its presence in the first place, wondering if Tyr and the titans knew of infinite magic before the lost denizens of Bor'navali. However, there wasn't much time to investigate, with thousands of dragons being corrupted by this horrifying force that flooded from the halls of Uldaz. As the remaining uncorrupted dragons and the Aspects escaped, Nozdormu stayed behind. As the Aspect of Time, he sought to become both the prisoner and warden of this magic to ensure that it never escaped the bounds of Wyrmrest. He thus remained on the continent, containing the infinite magic and the corrupted dragons, along with himself, in Uldaz.

In time, shipwrecked groups and fledgling races that did not leave Wyrmrest would grow on this continent now abandoned by the dragonflights.

    Infinite Dragonflight Explanation

Current lore indicates that the titans showed Nozdormu his death, which made him vulnerable to the Old Gods' whispers, eventually leading him to succumb and shatter the timeways, creating the infinite dragonflight so that the Old Gods could keep Thrall from stopping the Hour of Twilight.

I'll be structuring the lore to account for this event. This still occurred, but at this point, Murozond had been tainted for centuries. This Murozond is from the future (after the events of this hypothetical expansion).

    Plot

I'll try to make this as simple as possible: The infinite dragonflight can control time, so adventurers must destroy them at their source of power to clear them from the timeways. Simply, this means we must take the fight to Wyrmrest to stop the infinite dragonflight at their font of power. Wrathion came to realize this, and is why he's been searching for the landmass for so long.

Wrathion has sought out the "Dragon Isles" for so long because he heard the delusional thoughts of his father by virtue of being of Neltharion's direct lineage. Though Neltharion was driven mad, the little sanity he had left also sought to bathe the world in flame to stop the infinite dragonflight's return from the depths of Uldaz. Since then, Wrathion has sought out this location, and finally discovered it with the assistance of Ebyssian.

Murozond understands that the infinite magic that taints him is beyond arcane, and is seemingly connected to the Old Gods, but does not care. Though he hears their whispers that reach beyond time, he is not swayed, and has found a balance as the Aspect of Time that allows him and all those he's blessed to journey inside and outside of the conventional timeways at will, thus allowing himself and the infinite dragonflight to conduct their operations.

Ultimately, Murozond seeks to line up events in the past and the future in such a way that would allow for the return of an uncorrupted Galakrond, as he believes that Galakrond prior to his corruption was the purest embodiment of order. Murozond especially emphasizes that while the Titan-Keepers selfishly fought among one another and sought to bring "order" in the view of the titans, Galakrond was a single being who found his origins on Azeroth. Thus, Murozond and the infinite dragonflight will do anything to restore what they deem to be natural order on Azeroth.

However, other threats co-exist on Wyrmrest. Adventurers will also face the Twilight's Hammer, who seek to subvert the plans of the infinite dragonflight, instead searching for Galakrond's heart to resurrect him into a vessel for the Old Gods to restore the Black Empire. The Blackrock clan (main universe) is also present, having been granted access to the continent to continue Neltharion's Chromatic experiments in secret. Other familiar threats such as the Venture Company, the vrykul, arcane beings left behind by Aegwynn in a lost library beneath the ocean, and more will be faced.

Thanks for just sharing your thoughts about a potential Dragon Isles concept and not trying to pass it off as leak stuff.

For sure! Would be great to see more people create in-depth concepts rather than making these fake leaks.

I'm a huge fan of your concepts, by the way!

Thanks! Re. your concept, I think the origins of the Brokers is interesting, and I like the concept of infinite magic as a kind've advanced divine-tier facet of arcane magic, like how Domination magic was a facet of death magic. Though I think a different name, even just Infinity magic, might be better, to keep people from misunderstanding (it's time magic, not an infinite amount of magic).

And I wouldn't mind playing through Nozdormu's fated descent into corruption as Murozond.

We've closed off the loop where Murozond exists with the End Time dungeon.

Nozdormu may or may not go mad, and since Deathwing didn't win, the conditions may not be right for Nozdormu to become Murozond.
