    WoW Patch 10.0

    Dragon Isles and Old-World Revamp:

    The Dragon Isles is the home of Uldorus, the Throne of Azeroth, which can reshape parts of the planet. Black Dragonflight was tasked to protect Uldorous as well as regulate and make corrections when outside cosmic forces radically alter the planet. This hasn’t happened since Deathwing’s betrayal; several dragons ousted the black dragons from the isles then used the Throne to move and hide it from everyone.

    The expansion adds three new zones are part of the Dragon Isles along with two revamped “regions” from the old world which act as max level zones.

    First island features the Vulpera homeland. It’s ruled over by one of Ysera’s daughters who is married to a fox loa. Heavily Fae themed. Players are betrayed by the couple after helping restore the zone from an undead invasion that happened during Shadowlands. This zone features expansion’s initial raid.

    Second island has a middle eastern themed human civilization of dragon hunters along with a group of neutral Naga. Zone is based on the original dragon isle concept art.

    Third island is a crystal desert that looks like the caverns of time. Players fight the original infinite Dragonflight along with a splinter group that is obsessed with collapsing everything into one timeline where the Light wins.

    Old-World Revamp:

    Lordaeron and Nordrassil are the capitals for the Horde and the Alliance this expansion.

    These capitals are special as they need to be built up by players during the 10.0 storyline. They also show off the expansion’s new cross-faction play as they are open to everyone regardless of faction, with unique quests for Horde helping Night Elves rebuild and vice versa for Alliance helping the Undead.

    Ashenvale and the Plaguelands are max level “regions”. There is no full world revamp, but each major patch for this cycle will add at least one batch of old-world zones revamped and made relevant for max level characters instead of a completely new zone.

    After finishing the 10.0 storyline, players unlock a Threads of Fate styling leveling in these zones for level 1-60 characters with Lordaeron and Hyjal already built up. Completing the storylines of subsequent patches will unlock the zones they reintroduce for this leveling path. The "Kingdom of Stormwind" is planned as a future revamped region.

    The Plaguelands = Tirisfal Glades, the Western Plaguelands, and Eastern Plaguelands

    Ashenvale = Ashenvale, Felwood, and Mt Hyjal

    Heart Shaping:

    Players can make minor and major alterations to expansion zones through the Hearth of Azeroth, which is no longer a wearable amulet. Heart shaping is used during the storyline and other areas.

    Cross faction Play:

    Players can now group with each other regardless of faction. Characters in the group are considered the same faction as the group leader for PvP and questing purposes. There are some restrictions – characters of the opposing faction will still be attacked inside capital cities besides Lordaeron and Nordrassil.

    New Class, Dark Ranger:

    Reworked lore to be focused on cycle of renewal, intermixing life and death. Not limited to elves, but not open to all available races. The new Dark Rangers feature in the revamped zones.

    Two specializations: Ranged Damage spec based on classic Dark Ranger. Healing spec based on banshees and Ardenweald, which stance dances between various song buffs.

    Class Proliferation:

    Night Elf and Undead Paladins become available during pre-patch.

    Alterations to zones and cosmic forces.... this one scores a yikes from me on playability.

    But hey, you say nothing of substance story-wise so your leak will stay possible until the reveal happens.

    Extreme doubt. There was just a 100% Fae themed zone, Vulpera are not all that popular and were just a thing expansion before last.

    Also extreme doubt. You should have chosen a more reasonable revamp location, like Dire Maul or something. Really can't see them giving Horde a revamped Lordaeron, Andorhal, Caer Darrow, Stratholme, Hearthglen, Tyr's Hand, Darrowshire, Corin's Crossing, Brill and Scarlet Monastery while Alliance get the roots of Nordrassil and... Astranaar?

    That is three zones with absolute shit tons of lore, lore locations and characters, and room for development, and then three zones that are literally just forest (especially with felwood being restored to be even more elven forest). Blizzard hates giving Alliance nice things, but they don't hate them that much. Also what a wildly inbalanced questing experience even with both sides getting access to the zones and quests. Go rebuild Andorhal and Caer Darrow in The plaguelands and then... cleanse some glades in Felwood? Plant trees in the burned down part of Hyjal?

    Cross faction Play:

    Players can now group with each other regardless of faction. Characters in the group are considered the same faction as the group leader for PvP and questing purposes. There are some restrictions – characters of the opposing faction will still be attacked inside capital cities besides Lordaeron and Nordrassil.
    Why would the Night Elves, of all races, let Horde players just waltz into their new home that they had to make because the Horde burned them alive in their old one? Hello?

    New Class, Dark Ranger:

    Reworked lore to be focused on cycle of renewal, intermixing life and death. Not limited to elves, but not open to all available races. The new Dark Rangers feature in the revamped zones.

    Two specializations: Ranged Damage spec based on classic Dark Ranger. Healing spec based on banshees and Ardenweald, which stance dances between various song buffs.
    Highly doubt. Not because of Dark Ranger, but because what is "based on banshees and Ardenweald"? Those two things are absolutely nothing alike, not aesthetically, not thematically. Banshees are something that you would have to lean into heavily for the ranged DPS spec, and 99% of what banshees do is attack things, so why on earth would they shift it over to healing and then combine it with a totally unrelated theme that is also inherently anti-undead/necromantic magic, which is the foundation of the dark ranger.

    Looks better than most leaks, but Dark Ranger bit doesn't sound too real. I could believe everything else though.

    Would love this, but it’s too good to be true.

    This is, hands down, te worst leak so far.

    Like, everything is awful

    This leak I wouldn't mind at all, some solid concepts but still enough "slightly out of the box" to be true, I like it! Especially the progressive revamp.

  9. #9
    The most likeable "leak" but Dark Ranger killed it right off

  10. #10
    Nice to see a leak with Dark Ranger. But why the hell would you ruin Dark Ranger?

    Some of this is okay. As much as I want dark rangers, I'm pretty sure this is fake. Thanks for the read, though.

    This is not bad at all..

    Feels like the dark ranger could be more interesting, but so far a route blizz could take.

    Azshara is still looking for the true throne, Uldorus might be just that.

    If dragons, why not a Dragonborn class, 4 specs druid style.

    Bronze = Tank
    Red = Ranged
    Blue - Melee
    Green = Healer

    Agreed. They're a couple of expansions overdue if you ask me.
    Meanwhile, back on Azeroth, the overwhelming majority of the orcs languished in internment camps. One Orc had a dream. A dream to reunite the disparate souls trapped under the lock and key of the Alliance. So he raided the internment camps, freeing those orcs that he could, and reached out to a downtrodden tribe of trolls to aid him in rebuilding a Horde where orcs could live free of the humans who defeated them so long ago. That orc's name was... Rend.

    Yep, they should have come in Legion when Delas Moonfang joined the paladin order. Maybe BFA prepatch.

    That Dark Ranger lore makes zero sense.

    If Blizzard didn't introduce Dark Rangers during Sylvanas' swan song in WoW, it's doubtful they would release them with "new lore" in a completely unrelated expansion.
