Weird end to the WDC - commentators kept saying "half points, half points", until it wasn't... guess I need to bone up on the rules. Or they do. Whichever.

Ah well, congrats to Max. Even without Ferrari's incompetence this season, he was often times just too good.

Still plenty of time for McLaren to leapfrog Alpine for 4th in the WCC. C'mon!

The FIA wrote that rule as a response to last year race at SPA, presumabily to not award half points when you never really raced, and they even set points award based on how much % of the race has been done. But in all its glory the FIA make it so if the race is resumed after a red flag and does not finish behind safety car of with the red flag you get full points. Decision makers at their finest.

With this rule you can have a 4 lap race with full points. Red flag in the first lap of the GP, when the 4 hours alotted for the race are nearly over, rolling start with SC only doing the formation lap, 1st lap after the race is resumed gets to max time alotted and so there is one more lap and then it is over. And you get full points for all that

One of the best races of the season today. Still feel iffy about full safety cars, I know they're needed but there's something unpure with the racing when someone can get a bit lead only for it to be neutralized due to no fault of their own.

George winning his first race after being robbed back in 2020 (when he substituted for Hamilton, in an ill-fitting suit, shoes that were too small and cockpit that wasn't right for his size) was amazing to see. Also with the sprint win and fastest lap means he has the maximum points that has been available in any race weekend.

Max acts childish at the end, being let through with the agreement he would hand it back if he didn't overtake anyone else, but basically telling the team to fuck off just shows his immaturity there. Also, think Sainz should have let Le Clerc through. People might go "it's only second." but that has money directly or indirectly to come with it.

With Charles and Checo even on points going in to Abu Dhabi, it should be fun.
