Do Americans feel that two parties are enough to cover all ideologies?

Do Americans feel that two parties are enough to cover all ideologies? I know there technically are minor parties, but in reality it's really a fight only between Democrats and Republicans.

I mean, there are so many ideologies on each side.

    For left-wing there are:

    Social democrats
    Socialists
    Communists
    Syndicalists
    Anarchists
    Left-wing liberals
    etc.

    For right-wing there are:

    Right-wing liberals
    Economical conservatives
    Social conservatives
    Religious conservatives
    Fascists
    etc.

I don't understand how all these sub-ideologies can all fit into two parties. How do right-wing liberals and social conservatives cooperate, for instance?

They mutually decided that tax cuts for the rich and business deregulation are god’s plan.

Well, they don't. It's a failed democracy where minor interest can be safely disregarded. New parties will never stand a chance against these molochs.

It doesn't matter what "Americans feel."

The system isn't changing any time soon because it benefits one of the two parties too much (to the point where they'd probably have no federal power for decades) for them to agree to it.

We have 30 flavors of potato chips and you ask this?

Of course it's not enough to cover all those. Unlike multi-party systems, we build coalitions before voting instead of after. I'd LOVE to see a viable multi-party system in the US though.

I mean, if I had to choose between Smoked Cheddar Gouda potato chips and a true Social Democratic Party...tough call, man. :P

Unless the minority interests are those of the Republicans. They get disproportional power...

Calling anarchists left, is quite the take.

Their voting system makes sure only 2 parties have any real chance to win. So whatever Americans feel, until they change voting they'll only have 2 parties.

If it's anarchists on the socialist tradition they are absolutely left.
Bakunin thought Marx was right because Marx was for larger organisations than the local society. (In a gross simplification) As Bakunin felt that'd lead to an implicit hierarchy which he didn't like.
