Other than the usual M+ and raiding and since we won't have any Islands expeditions or Torghast like content, anything new not announced or hinted at ?

So nothing really big, thanks for the info :/
Same old. I'm kinda sad they're letting Torghast go, I guess I'll have to wait for Shadowlands Classic to experience it again
Dragonflying seems to be pretty big in terms of gameplay.
Professions are another way to gear up now, which imo is good.
Perhaps if you're good enough at dragonflying you can get the right crafting mats to just craft the best gear?
It would cause some entitled epeen wieners to cry no doubt, but that would not be something bad.
Also they seem to start to notice that the overworld / open world needs to be a bit more, ah, serious participation in terms of power participation, so there might be potential there.
This is a signature of an ailing giant, boundless in pride, wit and strength.
Yet also as humble as health and humor permit.
Furthermore, I consider that Carthage Slam must be destroyed.
Considering just about everything on that front they introduced last 2 expansions bombed and ended up a massive waste of time, maybe it's a good thing.
/shrug
Maybe.
But maybe the solution to "this system fucking SUCKS!" isn't necessarily having NO system. If I'm at a restaurant and get a turd sandwich, I'll complain; but if I come the next day and get NO FOOD AT ALL that didn't exactly solve the problem, did it.
We'll have to see.
As far as I am concerned - what made WoW to be the giant that it is, were the things that were there all along - the world, gameplay, story, dungeons and raids.
If they deliver all that, that's all that players really need. All this Torghast, Isles and other crap just too detached from the core World of Warcraft experience and offered a shittier version of what you'd get in other better games dedicated to those kinds of activities.
So I'm glad that instead of making Islands 3.0 that 80% of people would ditch after 2 weeks, they invest that time into remaking talent trees and improving core experience.
Perhaps that will indeed be enough, but to play devil's advocate here, there was a REASON they added extra stuff on top the whole raid/dungeon stuff - it WASN'T enough for a lot of people. If you look at something like Cata or WoD, that's basically what we had: do the dungeons and raids (and pvp), and that's it. The result was people logged on for raids, logged off after, and that was the game. To a lot of people that wasn't great, either.
We'll have to see how things play out now, especially since we have M+ now which does serve to fill a lot of the previous gaps. Maybe it really is enough. But it may also not be.
As far as we can tell the only big new thing is the invasions which are like covenant assaults but in at the beginning and the rep progress system.
I don't mean renown but the new trees like the one you see for the hunting parties and invasions
I guess Invasions count insofar as they are a way to get easy rep/renown and eventually some decent mogs over time. Other than that no, just keys and raids. If zones are more like ZM with mounts/pets and shit to farm anyway, as it's implied they will be at least partly, that's some timewasting shit for people to gradually chip away at besides being in the maze.
Maybe the Time thing will be the new Torghast/Island/Vision thing. Who knows.
Paladin Bash has spoken.
I think what you want may just be procedurally generated dungeons.
Which I agree would be great.
But WoW's engine limitations probably don't really allow that. Torghast LOOKS like it's "changing" but it really isn't. It's just the same basic patterns repeated. And a lot of it is just really boring hallways.
