Dragonflight was a marketing move, wotlk has a lot of dragons especially early so it will generate interest in the dragon element, also I believe they will release cataclysm classic afterwards and Dragonflight aims to boost it by generating even more interest for dragons. It was a 100% marketing move and this proves that classic hurts their vision for retail, they now don't focus on strong lore elements but they aim to make them boost each other.

Are you really implying they spent tens of millions on an expansion just to market it for a product that was released 12 years ago?

WoW. Big brain move right there: "Let's release an expansion full of dragons and dragon lore to hype up one expansion with mediocre dragon lore!". Yeah, because having two expansions back to back with the same theme has worked out so well in the past...

Eh, what? So, you mean to believe Dragonflight is only made to "hurt" Classic? Yeah right. Can't get more layers of tinfoil. Classic functions on its own, it is a sheltered location without any progression other than the next Classic release. Originally Posted by Vampiregenesis
