Self Inscription

I've been thinking of taking up inscription, but I haven't been able to find much info as to what is available only to the inscriptor, as opposed to stuff you could get from someone else. For instance, JC has a bunch of BoP gems and items, lw has drums and the new bind on attach leg armors, and enchanting has ring enchants. Does inscription offer anything that helps just the inscriptor? The only thing I've seen so far is a low lvl spell that seems to likely have been removed.

Getting inscription allows you to receive an additional inscription slot. So instead of having 3 major and 3 minor glyph slots at 80, you get 4 major and 3 minor glyph slots. Basically the one class that wouldn't really benefit, thus far, from taking up inscription would be paladin, most specifically holy and prot.

AFAIK, at 70 you'd get 3 majors rather than the 2 majors available now.

You do? I really doubt it ;-) At least I haven't seen it possible on my 430 inscription.

The BoP Stuff are shoulder enchants and caster offhands. I have been hoping to find some information on the "additional" glyph ... but the additional glyph unlocking skill was mostlikely only only the one you get at 80.

So it is not worth dropping a profession for it atm, imo. Add another major glyph, like I hoped and I would have been temtped to reroll. But if it stays this way I'll just give the profession to one of my alts.

The extra major glyph seems to have been dropped. Check the link on the wotlk wowhead site. The link no longer functions. It can't be data-mined any more. No word from the devs on it. Looks like it is gone for good.
