In a competition where the slightest difference decides matches, any teammate dieing means almost a guaranteed loss, let alone a healer.

That's true, but still, I think it's just poor sportsmanship to give up. True, most classes don't have as many Oh Shit buttons as my paladin, but I always stand until the bitter end.
