    Elaborate?

It works as a fractal percentage of how much effort (EP) you put in over the gear (GP) you acquire.

You get EP for arriving early/on time to raids, supplying buffs (potions/fish feasts/etc), being present for boss kills, or preforming exceptional work (i.e. no one dies in the Faction Champs encounter). You get a fixed amount of GP based on the gear: 250 for tier, 150 for normal gear, 75 for Idols/Totems/Librams/Sigils and for Offset gear. Basically, the more you are there and the longer you don't get anything, the higher priority you will have: a 10% weekly decay prevents people from not using all their EP/GP points.

Usually as long as you are attending raids, you'll get what you want- In most cases the people I run with will (most of the time) pass on a slight upgrade for them if it is a dire upgrade for yourself, since with Raiding you go as far as your weakest member often. The good thing with the system is that even if you just started to raid, within 3-4 attendances you'll have a (near top) priority if you pas son everything.

Re: What gear do you have saved for 3.2.2 my fellow rets?

The trouble with epgp is that people can see it and keep track of it. They can horde ep not spend their gp and pass on obvious upgrades. Case and point, my guild uses this system and we have a number of players that would let ulduar hardmode loot/ regular ToC loot go to waste because we are downing i-level 258 stuff now. I think epgp is great, but people are assholes and love to horde their points for the fanciest epic loots, and sharding 245 stuff that is an upgrade for someone because they don't want to spend their points is pretty shitty.

Anyways to the OP, I wear 4/5 t9 atm and love it, course everytime I check my recount and see RV ticks 150 crits: 3 I die a little on the inside. I got a number of rings to mix and match though in the event I go under hit/expertise cap with loots. Also I am probably going to be dropping my expertise rings altogether since the pants have an ungodly amount of expertise and I will be getting those next for sure.

Re: What gear do you have saved for 3.2.2 my fellow rets?

I'm not so familiar with DKP or EP/GP, as I've only ever been in 2 guilds, one of which didn't really raid progression. My current guild uses Loot Council. It works best for us, because most of us have been together for years, secondly, most are over 21 and mature enough to understand what helps the raid most and who deserves what loot.

I know it doesn't work for everyone, as we've had many recruits leave, but this guild has seen so many people come and go, but the core has remained. Original server, original guild. We're not going anywhere.

Re: What gear do you have saved for 3.2.2 my fellow rets?

Honestly if your guild is full of asshats like mine and people refuse to take 245 loots because 258 are available it will hurt when you try and down those 258 bosses. The jump from ulduar(226) to ToC(245) to 25TotGC(258) is insane. Sure a lot of uber guilds can pull it off, but for the rest of us blizzard expects you to be wearing a lot of that 245 gear to down the 258 shit.

Another thread to confirm why formalized loot systems suck.

Thats why it works for our guild: People will still use it or pass it themselves so the people that need it more can use it: Basically for us its acting as a way to determine who gets priority on first drops xD

i have my own rules :
1st every minor upgrade is worth it (even if it cost 8k :P)
2nd stay in plate and dont piss off the mail/leather user

We use EPGP assisted loot council, and hide the ep/gp figures from view of anyone but officers. If we really have to we force people to take upgrades, because it's beneficial to the raid.

Thought I'd just bump this thread instead of making a new one for my question.

I just got http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47943 tonight. and i have the rest of my ret gear equipped in my armory atm.

I have 72 emblems of triumph and a trophy of the crusade. (after VoA and or daily heroic i'll have 75+)

What tier piece should i buy? I know the chest sucks, but i already have the shoulders and leggings....so I'm thinking of going for the gloves.

    What say you paladin board?

maybe gloves, but right now you are hurting your DPS by breaking your 2pc 8.5.

Did some playing around on RAWR because i thought of that too, but that seems not to be the case.

Anyway RAWR says upgrading the leggings would give me the biggest dps boost

Re: What gear do you have saved for 3.2.2 my fellow rets?

rawr is a poor representation of DPS. I'm pretty sure it is already updated so that the t9 2pc is your crit and not base 4% crit.
    Pondering returning.

That is true, but I am gearing with 3.2.2 in mind where it is fix'd. (and will presumibly launch tomarrow)
Plus it makes sense in that I'll be getting the largest attackpower/crit boost from the leg upgrade

Re: What gear do you have saved for 3.2.2 my fellow rets?

i'm not going to assume it is launching just because of maintenance. I can't remember the last week we had rolling restarts. I also havnt been playing enough to get the 2pc >_> i think i have 45 triumph. and didnt get to run 10/25 ToC or 25man VoA. so many lost triumph
    Pondering returning.
