Dax Riggs goodness.
That's saying the same thing twice. (Pleonasm...)

Listening to some rough mixes of the basic recordings of our upcoming album. About an hour worth of music and some parts are completely out of here.
Guitar n bass. Hoping to get rid of one of the two once we find someone to step in.
Don't need to be plugged in to practise. Got a dinky ole busted guitar here that I don't plug in when I practise. Simple guideline I use: if it already sounds great on that piece of crap, it'll sound even better when amped up.
One of the greatest dm albums this year.
And the biggest find of the year:
Those motherfucking RIFFS. Just jaw-droppingly good.

Two words:
1st: Holy.
2nd: Fuck.

This just hit 2nd place in my Album of the Year list.
Based on those two tracks alone.
Yeah it's not even funny how good the new Gorguts is gonna be, and to be honest I was not expecting anything less. They are easily one of the greatest and most consistent death metal bands ever.
What's your #1? I think mine is still Paysage d'Hiver. Das Tor really rocked my world.
Altar of Plagues is no. 1 currently.
I am expecting Oathbreaker to hit no. 3, which would put Vhol @ no. 4.
Portal will probably be in there as well. Odds are Ruins of Beverast will make it the top 10 list as well. Pelican is releasing a new album, which I have high hopes for. Wardruna is definitely a contender as well.
Obscura is one of the tightest, most chaotic and intense death metal albums of all time. To quote a random youtube user:
I fucking love this album because it sounds like someone had a recording, fully fleshed out and melodic, with recognizable song structures and the like, and then WHOOPS! They dropped it on the ground, shattering it all over the place. Rushing to fix it they grab duct tape and glue and try and fit all the pieces back together. They kinda get all the parts in the same place...but not really.
I'm sure it has been posted trillions of times here, and it was worth it every time.
A lot of the stuff on the "new" Naglfar album reminds me a lot of Abyssos...which is a good thing. Big shame Abyssos didn't last longer than they did. :|
I'm not usually a big fan of black metal, but I almost always love the atmospheric/melodic stuff.

I just stumbled upon this. Pretty grim.
Linking Evile's Skull Album again, worth-while listen to anyone into the 80's thrash metal sound.
In my opinion, the best metal Album that has been produced inn my life-time, only Metallicas/Megadeths prio-1995ish albums can compare, its an absolute joy to see that the metal music I like (Why are 90% off the produced metal songs screaming now days, no hate :s!) still going strong. Some people find it uninspiring, and nothing new, but hey, you can't change perfection
Edit: Was even this thread I got to know about them <3, so much love there. Its absolutely a band to be taken serious, and they seem to have what it takes to produce good songs, both lyric and playing wise. All the albums they released so far have keept a decent overall production quality
