Call it by all the different sub-genres you want, it's all metal to me.
Favorite band - SOiL (with Ryan McCombs, the original singer) he came back in November of 2011
a few others, In Flames, Disturbed, slipknot, Sonic Syndicate, Drowning Pool, Children of Bodom, etc.

Very strong Maiden vibe (the galloping pace):

'Y'all's abusin' the one-per-post!
So fucking amazing.
Looks like it got turned off again though. I could post 3 clips in the Your Year In Music thread just fine.
I'd be fine with 2 per post. Think 1 per post was a wee bit restrictive.
Decrepit Birth ftw.

oh, and Terrorizer. Pete Sandoval is such a badass drummer. i heard once that the other guys in Morbid Angel had him listen to a band that used a drum machine and told him that it was a real person drumming faster than him. so he practiced until he could beat the machine.
^Pretty decent Death Metal band

Thergothon is excellent. Despite being one of the funeral doom forefathers they're still one of the best.
Thank you Nektar ) !
I didn't actually know this band (Thergothon) until some days ago, but I already like it ^^!
Thergothon reminds me...
Although I am not a huge fan of funeral doom (interestingly, I like less extreme doom variants (traditional/epic/death) and more extreme variants (drone/doom, extreme sludge) as well, but not this middle ground) I was familiarising myself with Esoteric and this album is huuuuuge
Not very easily digestible however.
And dat artwork!
