To clarify that a bit, every mob had a very small chance to drop a virtual booster pack that could be redeemed in the TCG, bosses weren't special. The items from the boosters were just fluff loot cards like the ones you find in the WoW TCG.

I think this would have less to do with Nintendo's situation (Wizards was actually just reprinting the Japanese TCG) and more to do with Konami exposing UDE for being an absolute POS company with no ethics in their Yugioh lawsuit they just won.

I hope Blizzard talks to Wizards of the Coast. I'll probably play the card game then.

Yeah that sounds epic, those are the guys who made magic the gathering right?

I've played Magic for about 10 years, still the greatest card game ever, and will be of all time. It will always be the cardboard crack. Anything WotC has done has been great, including Pokemon, the card game. It only fell after WotC gave it up to another company.

Also, Blizzard working with Wizards just sounds fun.

The new TCG is using Scaleform for the UI, which uses Flash and actionscript 2 to build the UI and you can communicate to the game engine back and forth with the ExternalInterface face. It lays very nicely over the game engine.

Sigh. Yet another indication that World of Warcraft has hit a brick wall and the ride is about over. Blizzard is losing subscribers by the truckload each month and now they go and excise the only gaming company in the country besides Games Workshop that can guarantee running a for-profit enterprise?? Sounds like a last-ditch grab for cash before the whole fucking roof collapses in on Blizz.

Warcraft has been fucked up, glitchy, poor service, badly designed, and now they kill an ancillary support system that drained hardly any resources?? I can only guess money, or the lack thereof, was the root cause of ending this very benficial partnership.

Probably next week. The top 5 guilds are able to perform pretty much to perfection.

I'm glad thier doing maintenance , BUT i really hope this isnt a just a band aid fix.I unfourtunately run on a 3 meg connection , it s somewhat playable but 25 mans are hard coz of the lag.I wish blizz could help us with this.I also know it's not just me , the rest of my guildies lag i'm doign like 500 less dps than i should do without this lag and if you total that out in a guild , that 's a lot of dmage there lost that could be used to down bosses that last min.

Bliz shouldnt just cater to super high speed users, coz we all play as a group/team so maybe i could be using a 10 meg or 20 meg connection but several of my guildies may not be so lucky (my part of the country is terrible they have the lowest speeds)so that could be an issue. i hope they keep this in mind .were paying em alot of money surely there is somethign they can do to better the performance of instance esp. for 25 mans

That's not why they broke contract with upperdeck, upper deck made fake Yu-Gi-Oh cards out of country and sold them, breeching their contract with the makers of yu-gi-oh, and many other laws.

This. Upper Deck can't hold a incense honestly to save their lives. And it's their own fault.

This could not be further from the truth, but I can't quite think of anything to retort with. Pointing out that this dealender between UDE and Blizzard is the only substance in your arguement that closely resembles sense won't cut it. Pointing out the rest of what you said from the first paragraph doesn't help. And the rest doesn't hold water when you consider that Blizzard's support has been the envy of other MMORPG developing teams for some time now.

So what do I call you? A bad forum troll? Someone who quit when Ensidia came under fire? Someone who likes or works at UpperDeck, since they did do this exact same smearing with Koonami after they broke up? Someone who got fired from Blizzard and who's making it personal? I don't know. It's a pretty petty shot at Blizzard all the same. :V

Next time go for the optics.

Money is ultimately the only reason that anything happens in business.

It's not really an indication that the sky is falling.

Hopefully they're able to relaunch using the same game system. I don't have the time or money these days for CCG's, but I did pick up the starter set and a few boosters for the WoW version, and it's actually pretty well done. I'd hate to see them slap the brand name on an inferior game system, like what happened with the Star Wars CCG or Star Trek CCG back in the early days.

    Um, no?

Despite your retarded anecdotal experience with probably a few friends or guildies quitting, Blizzard still has 11.5 million subscribers.

Check out their quarterly report, and no, they aren't lying. If they did they'd get their ass sued so hard (Enron).

Being able to participate in the TCG on-line is something I would go for.

Sony did it with their EQ games and I enjoyed it. Hopefully this is what Blizzard's intentions are.

If an online version of the game is in the works, I for one am STOKED. I've been reluctant to try the physical card game because I just don't know anyone around me to play with. XD

The 3.5 Pathfinder edition (mind you, that's a conglomeration of TSR's original work on the 3E plus work by WotC and Paizo) is probably the golden standard for how to run a tabletop game now. And yes, they, WotC, did make it the more recent versions (2nd and up). TSR was part of WotC, and using their money to keep themselves afloat, before 2E even came out; WotC just eventually decided to pull the plug on the TSR brand name and just finally admit everything was coming from them by the time of 3E.
